ian hutchinson almost bit it in the senior race and RIP to the rider who died and the two spectators great race though like i say screw nascar this takes balls and some serious skill the greatest races in the world
Brilliant, we were going to come and stay with my partner's parents in Ramsey, but decided that we'd not be able to move for bikes, so we'll be there later in the year and be calling on you for that drink.
bin there, seen it and got a t shirt! realy the best racetrack on earth!! seen the accident by ginger hall, shocking!! fot the rest we've enjoyed ourself absolutly! looking forward to next year!
Glad you had a good time, the weather race week was perfect which always helps. We are now looking forward to the southern 100 in July and the MGP in August.
It is difficult for ppl who are not involved in a sport to understand the the attraction, that goes for any sport. I have no interest in football and cannot for the life of me see why top footballers are paid so much. I have lost a number of friends, some close friends, through motorcycle racing, but still I raced. I understand and respect your views Paul, but like every sport, we all have the choice.
everyone involved knows the risks, its their choice. No-one calls for hill walking to be banned and that costs more lives than motor cycle racing also more money in rescue services.
The video was taken by a friend of mine from Alabama, I was marshalling during the event, so was unable to do any filming. He did find a good spot tho :-)
wow ace vid, is ballacrye out towards ramsey somewhere? That was a bad accident yesterday but it shouldnt be banned these risks are taken every time a spectator watches or a rider steps on his bike they no the risk.
Ballacrye is between Ballaugh and Sulby, about 6 miles before Ramsey. It was a bad accident yesterday, but as you say, everyone is aware of the dangers before taking part or spectating.
That air wobbble gets me every time when hey come into sight...The fastest I ever got the nerve to do on my bike was about 120. I was 18 and somewhat fearless (apparently not fearless enough!!)
Thanks Lesley. Yes the wobble gets me too, and its even worse when you are the one on the bike, (I used to race bikes myself). I have touched 150 on the road, probably a bit more racing, (you have no speedometer when racing). There was a new lap record set here today, John McGuinness averaged over 130mph over the 37.75 mile lap. AWSOME!!!
Až na to že tohle nejni ,,Hell Bent for Leather´´ , ale Wheels Of Fire!!!!! Volové :-)))

What amazes me is how early the first 100mph average speed lap was considering the roads back then!

Just spotted a mistake in the archive commentary, surely its 'governors bridge', not 'grosvenors bridge'!

The riders are fearless John, awesome shots and much enjoyed as street racing is a popular here in NZ.
We hope Kiwi rider Shuan Harris makes a full recovery after a nasty crash on the Isle this week....

Latest I heard of Shaun was he is still 'critical' in intensive care. We all wish him well.

So, is this Superbike Race ending this year? It shouln't, it's cool! I would be scared to go so fast though! I'm sure it's exhilarating.
awalkingenmity 4 years ago
No its not ending this year. The TT will be back again next year. On the straight sections the bikes top 185mph.
