@Icepacalapse Broad Appeal is a mare and her grandad on dams side is the great Secretariat .. You can bet she has a large heart passed down. I hope they breed from her keep the Secretariat line going. I notice with some of his off spring the second generations seem to be better then the first?

I wouldn't let a horse stay that far back for that long. I'd have been moving him up on the back stretch because you have to position your horse so that he has a real chance to win.

But no,i'd have been tearing his ass up with a whip to make him move faster . He wouldn't have stayed that far back that long. I'd have put him in 4th or 5th position so that he would have at least a decent chance at winning with all that speed!

YOU save your horse for the finish if he has that kinda speed.

Well, Zenyatta vs this one here?? Japan and the USA have different horses, trained differently,etc. Unless u put zenyatta and this horse in a race, with ALL the exact same horses in the video, you can't argue who's better. He may of made a great come-from-behind in the race, and perhaps not in a US race, with our horses.

I've been doing some research on Broad Appeal - this horse ran like this all the time! Do a YouTube search for "broadappeal@Ritto stakes" - it is as impressive as this race (2000 Negishi Stakes). Broad Appeal is a Broad Brush mare out of Valid Allure, which means there's Ack Ack on the sire's side and Secretariat on the dame's side. There speed every where. Very exciting but a strange way for a sprinter to run!
