Take Smoke for an example:

-- Armageddon: U, U, F, D --

If you hold block, you can do U, U, F and then release block and push D. Or you can jump and press U, U, F while you're in the air, then push D just as you're landing.

It simply means you can be anywhere, just as long as you're inside of sweep range (i.e you can be close, one step away, etc).

Low Punch, Down, Forward, Block, Block, Up, then High Punch. I don't recognise the button code, though.

that is correct, they put it like that so the combo can be performed on all consoles, however he might of been asking for the buttons that make you high punch and such on the pc, just a though

Smokes Bomb in Mouth fatality, why the hell do they always open their mouth to let it drop in?

DrClay999- They don't open their mouth to let the bomb drop in, Robot Smoke is supposed to make another one of those medal-hand things to open the mouth. But for some reason it dissapeared before they copied the games and thats how it left off.

I'm not sure of the specifics, because it's years since I've played the game with a 3-button pad - but, I'm pretty sure that I have done them all at some point using a standard pad.
