  • Was this for a recording college or something?

  • That LOUD NOISES drop was INSAAAAANNNNEEEEEEE

  • Whats the thing with all the knobs?

  • @308beatZ That's a mixing board.

  • hipster detected

  • did u make this on FL studio?

  • WHAT is the app on his ipad??

  • @EMCAL13 I think it's something around the lines of a MIDI controller, or something.

  • For being a first attempt I would say your a quick study man.

  • what are you using in this?

looks like some midi pad that looks like an iPad lol

and then some kind of mixer?

also what program do you use?

  • Wow awesome song could you release it for download?

  • you clean this up and you could get some real publicity for this. Sick samples

  • Is that an Ipad that's being used?

  • what are you using? and what app is that on the ipad?

  • make it a full song? lol, id want this as my ringtone

  • I was smiling... and it's my birthday, so thanks for the present. ^_^

  • Dude thats really sweet for going at it live.

  • What kind of monitor is that? The white one with the curly on the back.

  • Is that an Akai MPK Mini I see? i cant tell

  • See, what this guy is doing is a lot more interactive then the things deadmau5 or Skrillex do. See how much he was doing? Most mainstream dubstep producers have their shit pre made and just cut in and make them loop, thats all they have to do. I appreciate shit like this much more.

  • @Demonologiez actually they only do that for recording in the studio. if you watch a lot of skrillex's videos youll see him toying with the pitch, making silent pauses for the crowd to sing to with songs with lyrics, and sometimes he even makes new drops for a little more spice to live songs.

  • @Demonologiez It's kinda funny, because deadmau5 doesn't even make dubstep, and plus sure this is sick, but deadmau5 addressed "live" dance. He said "You can make really good dance music, live for a limited amount of time. Or you can make really shitty dance music live for as long as you want." What this guy is doing is good and interactive but it's not really possible to do this for 2-3 hours unless you're the god of music

  • @FindersKeepersMusic excision seems to have it down, he must be the god thats right underneath Mau5

  • i was like you suck until the loud noises

  • i love that movie so much

  • I want to do a performance like this :P I usually cut up my song into samples and trigger the samples when I play live

  • did u get credit

  • @joekuta Yes I did lol

  • better than most dubstep artist

  • @chrishaslam323 Thanks! I'll hopefully have something much better soon lol

  • @ericqdoyle helll yes! make a soundcloud or a facebook page!

  • @chrishaslam323 likes this

  • @joekuta huh?

  • What app were u using on the iPad?

  • @ChannelExplosiveness I was using TouchOSC, it's amazing app and I think it is still only $5 (not sure though). They have one called TouchAble now, which is nice; but I don't see what makes it worth so much more (not sure on the price but I think it's upwards of $20).

  • Cor blimey! Briliant!

  • @NinjaShadow8 Thanks!!

  • GHAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa LOUD NOISES!!!!!!!

  • You should try to do again and upload it (not live) cuz that was sick

  • @roflmao2916 Thanks! I've been working on a bunch of stuff since then, ALOT more effort in these. Hopefully I'll have something soon and I'll try and touch up that one and post it.

  • Your composition had too many breaks in it to be truly good, but if you were composing live, I guess it's excusable. I hope you got an A+ for this though, good show!

  • @KittenCollision I appreciate the constructive criticism! I've been working in ableton and trying to improve my skills. I definitely agree with what you said, hopefully I'll be posting something better soon.

  • What are you using with your left hand?

  • @Suck3it I was using two small midi controllers. Korg Nano Series: NanoKontrol and NanoPad. They're really useful for how inexpensive they are. Great to start off with. I found mine on Amazon for about $40 each; although, you may be able to find them cheaper now.

  • thats fucking sick. Amazing for the first time. I look up to you man. respect

  • @pcdboarder Thanks a ton man! Hopefully I'll have something even better soon!

  • 5 peoples computers blew up after watching this.

  • eric do you skateboard?

  • @alexeez1 No I don't but I've got a lot of respect for those who do. My skateboarding attempts haven't gone so well lol. I prefers blades

  • This is so sick!

  • Great job.

  • If the DJ does not have the next track he or she is fricked...

  • @DJHeroMist i like the bass..... i like the bass... i like the bass.. its catchy, you like? this is the hook...

  • @blue2397 lol

  • @blue2397 Some chords...?

  • @DJHeroMist lol no its the lyrics for a very old deadmau5 song called "this is also the hook" whatt you said before is what it says at the end of the song...

  • @blue2397 i am aware. i have all of deadmau5 :D lol i was trying to see if you were catching on to a joke fail though but its cool :D

  • @blue2397 i know... i was seeing if you caught onto the joke :D

  • @DJHeroMist lolol oh now i get itt >:) hahaha

  • @blue2397 lol

  • @blue2397

That song was by BSOD not deadmau5 ;)

  • @SmexyXey lol i know... i just subconsciously call joel (and in this case steve too) deadmau5... haha

  • eeew.... an ipad...

  • what kind of mixer are you using? and how did you plug into the sound system? just using the headphone jack?

  • @Umbre11aMan I didn't have time to set up a full rig, just about 5 minutes between acts lol. I was not anticipating the lecture hall having so many people in it lol. All they had was a headphone jack into the hall's sound system. I was still surprised at how loud it got though.

  • dude a distortion, chorus and flanger on that bass and it would sound dirty!

  • @alxgrymang Thanks man, totally agree. I've been experimenting a lot more and hopefully I'll have something a little rougher soon!

  • @ericqdoyle what is the equipment u used to do this (both hardware and software)?

  • what kind of monitor is that?????

  • its a legit live set up.. real good for your 'first attempt' although im sure youve probably practiced... the bass you use is super super simple too.. add some filthyness to those bass noises and youll have yourself a track.

  • @3:19 and it all comes together. I hope you got an A in that class. Which class was it?

  • cool monitor

  • that sounded nice ....actually...

  • top effort man. love it!!

  • Sounded Great.

  • la la la LOUD NOISES

  • OMG DUDE THAT WAS FUCKING SICKKKKK

  • @Ycontroller THANKS!

  • what monitor is that?

  • were did you get the LOUD NOISES sound? i want it

  • @WasabiMusic13 oops just noticed you said you had taken it from the clip well can you at least give me a link to the one you have?

  • brilliant

  • What equipment are you using? And how are you modulating your wobbles?

  • nice kudos

  • nice^^like it :D

I'm doin something like that for my matura, and for fun (might check out my channel ;)). still looking for a decent way to perfor it live, but i'm probably gonna use the Roland SP-404 SX.

  • amazing dood! keep up with that shit! dubstep is on the rise!

  • I loved it! I'm using this as an example for a dubstep project of my own. Thanks a ton.

  • @716TV I'm glad! you'll have to let me know how it goes.

  • Sweet as hell! Love the Anchorman part too. Is that an iPad? What program on the touch thing is used to make those flanger dubstep sounds?

  • @716TV Thanks! Yes that is an iPad. I was running Ableton Live on my MacBook Pro, and using the iPad as a midi controller. The program on the iPad is called TouchOSC, it's only $5 in the app store! I achieved the dubstep "wobble bass" sound by using the instrument "Sampler" in Ableton Live. I used a square/saw hybrid waveform as my sample and had a LFO working a 12dB bandpass filter on the sample.

  • @ericqdoyle You should use massive bro! It would bring your wobbles to a whole new level!
