  • What a waste of a good sports saloon! Love my s-type r, so its heartbreaking to see this twat roll it! poor journalist, must of shat himself!

  • Wow, I'm amazed how calm was that journalist - respect :O

  • And the British say Americans can't build cars that can corner.

  • @jdoggybizzle Dude, Jaguar was owned by Ford at the time of this video.

Ford is American, this Jaguar is really just a Ford Mondeo, with a Jaguar badge.

So yeah, as you say "American's can't build cars that corner.

You just watched the video that prove's it.

Anyway the driver looks Mexican, lol.

  • waht for s is it a r-type ?

  • Steve Sutcliffe... one of the best motoring journalists out there, former racing driver and once holder of the faster 0-100-0 times in the world..... amazing bloke

  • Journalist: "...No way, we're off"

  • look at the entry speed what a fucking cock knocker

  • Steve-you are as professional as they come.

  • guess its true cats always land on their feet "glad no one was hurt"

  • he has 220 km/h before braking.. to much speed for this corner:D

  • Duck tape 0:40...:D

  • At first I thought the journalist was going to smack the "racing driver" in the face not pat him on the shoulder!

  • A speed was about 200 km/h before braking :) It's too fast.

  • LOL . The racer was very professional....

  • lmao, how can u miss a corner? its right there, and to call him a race car driver and cant drive a car

  • I don't know why, but I found that funny.

  • Steve knew it from the jump they were in trouble......the race driver make the mistake that race drivers make, they try to use a line they would use in a race car for a street car......you can see him turn in to set the car before the apex, and then realize it is not going to drift or scrub speed through the turn, he corrected and then tried to use the trans to knock off some speed, still nothing, hos correct ion really got him sideways, and then he just looked for the impact Steve was so cool!

  • The jounalist was cooler than the other side of the pillow!

  • Steve Sutcliffe has balls of steel!

  • You alright man!? Holy shit, what a guy. I love him.

  • journalist was calm as a coconut

  • too fast on that corner.

  • No air bag deployment?? Maybe a special test car or something...

  • Don't worry. It will buff out :D

  • How the fuck can a guy who tests cars for a living manage to do that. And no I cant do any better thats why Im not a test pilot

  • Jags must have unstable suspension? I own 1 but after watching these ill drive mrs daisy in curves,,,watch youtube.com/watch?v=q5pFZ12iShc

  • Well you can see he braked way too late.

But when he realized it, you can see on the way he tried to rescue the situation, that he definitely got some skills!

  • @ErKa44 good call.. he hit the brakes too late, and the inevitable under-steer upon turn in is what led to the wreck..

  • test drive ? crash test

  • Not really a Jag anyway.

  • @bughole69 Hmm, don't see what you mean..

  • Lol The reporter was calmer than the race driver, didn't skip a beat. Some faint kind of ownage going on here. Must be distantly related to Chuck Norris.

  • .. stupid ..

  • IS THE CAR OKAY?

  • @TC2000FE The roof it's destroyed...

  • yup, that's how not to do it...

  • It was the s type R, I had a 4.0 but not the R. Handling sucked on it. No matter what your speed is, the weight transfer was just no good. So I switched to an SRT :)

  • I've never had a problem but then we have European chassis setups which tend to run a little stiffer here. The R makes for a fun trackday car but it isn't a serious racer.. It was never designed for that purpose anyway really.. the XFR is sublime though.

  • What an idiot.....

  • ahhh i crashed my parents s type last year, but not that badly!

  • I think the driver still thought he was in his formula car that has more downforce. He looked really ashamed at the end!

  • @eddohan You've hit the nail on the head. At the time he was racing for Jaguar in F1, this was on a 'press day' event where he was doing demo laps in the F1 car then taking Journo's round on a fast lap or two. He braked where he would've in the F1 car. Haha, he does look really embarassed at the end !

  • The corner was well took but damn!, he was driving very fast!! He ruined a perfect car!! I want one of those.

  • fucking rat cant drive send dis goof to a farm to milk a cow or sumthin

  • U just can't twitch a car 'round a corner at those speeds, mate..abit of weight transfer was all that was needed to unload the fronts and the resulting understeer did you in. U live and u learn...

  • Maybe he forgot that the car had normal breaks in sstead of racing brakes :D. The journalist looked way more calm then the driver.

  • That's Steve Sutcliffe in the passenger seat, I'm sure of it!

  • Oh shit, look at the speed! :S

  • Oh shit, his hat flew off. How embarrassing.

  • Good old Sutcliffe, on the ball as always!

  • Racing driver? I think he'd be better off stacking shelves.

  • Pizzonia thought he was in his F1 car entering the corner!

  • He was going in waaaaaaaay too fast.

  • i hopw that was the r type, owell, im gald it wasn't my jag in that

  • no airbags out??

  • No frontal impact = no need.

  • thats one great video, i wasnt expecting that at all

  • Good to see they were ok. :)

And that's why we have track days so we can make mistakes in safety and not on the road.

To help reduce accidents on the road from young drivers they should do more track days as well educating what happens when it goes wrong on the road. Many moons ago when I passed my test I took stupid risks. If there was a track to go to I would have done the silly driving here. I was lucky and never had a accident.

  • god i hate understeer

  • passenger looked like he was gonna twat him

  • Looks like the brakes fail to me. he looses alot of speed initially then nothing.

  • He backed off the brakes in an attempt to cancel the understeer, then stabbed the park brake a couple of times to induce oversteer in the hope of washing off speed sideways.

  • the journalist looked calm the driver looked pissed!!

  • The impact was to the side of the vehicle first (side way motion as opposed to forward motion). The sensor will not activate, as the kinetic energy is absorbed by the vehicle's side impact protection bars. In a frontal impact the airbags will only deploy if the vehicle hits an unmovable object head on(e.g. brick wall) to allow the airbag to absorb the kinetic energy and thus minimising injury to the occupant.

  • Jeez! Must have forgot he was in a road car.

  • he's doing 210 km/hour when he's braking AND turning in for the corner. I happen to know that because I have a dash of a jaguar S-type here and you can see where the speedo is about.

  • jaguar s-type r is bad ass tho

  • Testament to the safety features of the car considering they have no helmets or specialized racing harnesses.

  • safety features? wheres the airbags then?

  • no side or front impact. they came out alright, so i guess the vehicle made an okay decision about airbag deployment...

  • well maybe, since airbags are supposed to stop you from smacking your head off the steering wheel and dash... but if you look at 0:13 and somewhere around 0:38, that looks like a hard hit to the front to me, and if i was the car, i woulda deployed the airbags.

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha that was so coooooooooollllllllll

  • speed totally wrong, seems that was the first turn for the "man" shout by the journalist just before leaving the car

anyway terrain and tires have done well

  • idiotaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Hahaha, very funny!

  • doitforthemoney, haha, firstly your name is retarded, plus how would you like me to say wtc was funny, eh, fuck you before i stab you

  • you can hear the passenger say "no way, we're over" then he raises his hands and then the driver says "oh fuck".

  • They say he took the F1 braking point and forgot he wasn't in a formula one car. haha

  • Massive understeer like crazy

  • endrandhisgame, well, he was going about 260km/h i think any car would understeer at that speed

  • that driver is Antonio Pizzonia, former F1 asshole driver, a.k.a Jungle Boy.

What the heck did you expect from a racer born and raised in the middle of Amazonia?

  • After a quick stint in F1 school he graduated to become an OK driver. Just as well cuz it cost his father millions to buy his drive.

  • You got that right. His family owns as much land than most european countries tied together.

  • hahahahahahahaha!!!

  • where were the airbags???

  • That's probably not a journalist!

The car has camouflage on the grille, so maybe they are Jaguar engineers testing the S-Type R??

  • And no helmets either? idiots.

  • Why was the journalist asking if the driver was alright? It should have been the other way round... THEN the passenger should have screamed blue murder at him for being a shit race driver lol

  • HAHAHAH

  • Oh shit - poor driver. This DEFINITLY means trouble with the boss... ;)

  • XDXDXD motherfucker, you're right

it was funny to see his face, poor guy

good video pal, upload mora like this plz, youtube thanks

  • Haah. I can see how embarassed the test driver was. Funny.

  • :-( That beautifull car..

  • aie !
