But these people have been poor for thousands of years. Now they want to cross over. America was not always the richest country on earth. When the United States began and won it's war from England it was a poor country and had an unstable government. It was in the same boat as Mexico. But unlike Mexico, the US picked itself up and became a superpower.

American Indians in the USA make up less then 1% of the population. In Mexico, 30% of the population are 100% indigenous with 60% on top of that being Mestizos. Who is under represented more in governement?

I think was Mexico needs is a major political restructuring and create a more favorable economy with equal opportunity for it's citizens. The US and Canada are forming an alliance with Mexico as the North American Union and soon the nation of Mexico will be more industrialized and have better job opportunities for those already living in Mexico. Teaching the people "political science" is code for teaching them to react "politically" to their situation. THAT is asking for trouble.
