Huh... just noticed that at 0:33 Max takes several direct hits from Millia. If he hadn't transformed into Battroid mode at that exact moment he'd probably had been defeated (since Battroid mode redirects energy that is normally used for engines to the energy conversion armor instead. I'm a total Macross nerd...)

The TV series is the only part of the real Macross story that Robotech used.

This is really just a movie version of the series and it's different in the same way the Lord of the Rings films are from their books.

There's never been an official release as far as I know, but there are plenty of fansubs around. I reccomend looking for Freelance Fansubs' version of it. They don't hardcode idiotic karaoke animations into the video.

And yes, Max was taken by the Zentran ladies *after* this scene and later in the movie returns giant sized after using one of their enlargement machines piloting a Blue Meltran Queadlunn-Rau Power Armor since his own Valk was destroyed.. All I can think is.. Max... You are wearing Meltran female underware aren't you? They don't have any male clothes.

@manveru666 Max's Veritech has no special abilities. He's not better equipped than any of the Zentradi he fights against. Yet he leaves the battlefield unscathed because of pure skill. The Gundam guys have overpowered Gundams against under equipped cannon fodder...and they still get roughed up. With a few exceptions like Amuro and Char, most of the Gundam guys are scrubs compared to Skull Squadron. Kira can beat Ben Dixon...but that's it, lol. I liked Stardust Memories more than Seed.

Yeah, a remake of the original series. It's really good, but you need to see the TV show to understand the story. It begins after episode three with no explaination as to how they got there.

The animation is entirely new and few films stand up to it.
