  • oooohhhh....right hand thumb muting is almost impossible for me....i grip the fretboard differently.....

  • Good point about using the index finger to not only mute the higher strings but the string above, I'll start using that. :)

  • @TheGreatOldOak thanks! Feel free to subscribe to my channel for free lessons and also make sure to check out my latest competition!

  • you shuld do a lesson on that paul gilbert lick

  • @Jimihendrix6699 I think Paul Gilbert did already one or two on that one... ;)

but feel free to subscribe to my channel - I do a lot of free video lessons on picking and other stuff such as string skipping, sweeping, etc...

  • very constructive lesson,very good.

  • @dododo2200 thank you!

  • I heard a lot of players say, that for 'modern playing' you have to place your thumb behind the neck. What do you think about this?

  • @SomethinWild already replied to the very same question, see comments below...

  • @inlineMORRISskate

Oh my god you really have no idea of playing guitar do you ? I really have to agree with Milan ...you´re a f*cking retard...daaamn

MILAN ! YOU ARE AWESOME !!!!

    rock on !

  • @whiteguitar1990 thank you! :)

  • @inlineMORRISskate lol, did you write this while looking into a mirror? uhm uhm retard uhm 0 star... :D

  • awsome playing!!! and best teacher ever dude! rock on!!

  • @GuitaristEliKing thank you man!

  • Another example of SUPERB TECHNIQUE is displayed between 2:18-2:25 as Milan keeps ALL 4 of his fingers CLOSE to the fretboard! No "Flying Finger Syndrome" (as I call it) here!

  • What a FANTASTIC response, Milan! I will continue to use the fleshy part of the beginning of my picking-hand thumb, just like you demonstrated! I know you are a VERY busy Man, so the fact that you got back to me so quickly just goes to show what a CARING, SINCERE person you really are! It is an absolute HONOR to know you, and I THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART for your feedback. Well Done!

  • @312chicagoadam thank YOU Adam for your continued support. I really appreciate what you're doing! Keep me posted on your progress...

  • i dont have that big hands :( So i cant hold my thumb up on the fretboard :(

What should i do then? xD

  • @SilverlighTGuitarist find another way xD

  • Cool Lesson but i was always told to keep thumb in the center against back of neck when doing runs ..whats your thoughts on that?

  • @Avondis thanks Avery! Whatever works best for you. Always see WHO is saying WHAT and decide for yourself. I never claim to have THE solution as I don't think there's only one way...

  • @MilanPolak Very True and i have been watching your vids and your a GREAT player.I just sometimes make sure im not getting into bad habbits..thanks for the reply. rock on \m/

  • DUDE PAUL GILBERT XD!!!!!! Great lesson!!LAKSJDKALS:JDHAWE

  • @YanmingYuMusic thank you! :)

  • Great Info You've passed on Milan!!! Palm muting is key... whether you use the outside, thumbside or more towards the wrist! And hey ADAM... I know it goes against everything Pebber has taught us, But sometimes you have to Deviate from classical frethand structure to do sweeps and some other tricks because these are newer ideas, and the classic style was not developed with These things in mind... Peace Brothers...

  • @oilkills thanks Agreed - electric guitar is not classical guitar... ;)!
