Yes, there is a school breakfast program, but there are over 660,000 children experiencing food insecurity in New York -- only 530,000 receive breakfast in the public school system and just a touch over 430,000 receive it for free or at a reduced price.

I would expect that from a southern conservative states where taxes and spending is low, but New York City?

it is really sickening. what are our public officials in new york doing wiht the money they collect from people?

In the south it's 10 fold worse and the officials usually have a less inclination to address such issues such as child hunger.

I'm just wondering how that classroom in the Harlem is so modernized and clean. When I was a kid, we had to cram 40 of us in less than quarter of that classroom's size where 3 of us shared the same desk, shoulder to shoulder sitting by each other and the heater wouldn't even warm the kids in its vicinity. But I'm glad we are making a progress.
