Thanks for the tut, but in Blender 2.6 it just stays like a block not any shards! What i mean is it explodes into blocks notshards

I have a big mesh filled with lots of little cubes. Would it suffice to copy the cubes out of the mesh and then put physics on them or would the duplocated parenting properties forbid that?

@Apterygiformes I would make one cube first then duplicate it so you don't have to do the physics more then once
