  • what an awesome idea with the placenta

  • Just came across this even though I have been subbed for a while. My Ob was the same way. He knew from my reaction to any question about hospital procedures and questions that i asked that my intentions were to "accidently" get caught at home too far in labor to make it to the hospital. So when I came into my 41 week appt dilated to a 5 he sent me to the hospital to have meds for strep B. Then told me I could possibly leave after. Nope...by the time meds were done the baby came too quick.

  • the one question that we got continuously was about the mess. We used cheap shower curtains to put on the bed and all over the floor /pillows/mattresses where i wanted to be and then over the top of that we put sheets that we had bought second hand (washed and disinfected). We were then able to just throw it all out. But like you said, when all was aid and done there really wasn't that much mess. I didn't have to worry anyway, by the time I washed myself and came back, the mess was gone :D

  • i dont understand why anyone would remove a part of a babies body after theyre born??? and no answer will make me think its ok

  • She's hot and prego. SO awesome.

  • I see you like Johnson's baby products... but before you have that baby boy.... go buy Baby Magic... you will love it!

  • We painted w/ our placenta, did a Tree of Life on a canvas, and then froze it, it's still in our freezer at 8 months postpartum.

  • I labored & birthed my son completely nude, and didn't plan on it at all...If your OB knew they wouldn't take you probably, ha. They never approve. The things u wanted are the things we had w/ our son :) It's great to hear another Mama want them too. We didn't circumcise our son and he was homebirthed. We don't believe in a non-medical surgery for cosmetic reasoning. The mess, hydrogen peroxide, drop clothes for the floor, bed pads, waterproof.

  • so will your husband be delivering the baby?? You are so brave!!

  • That is so awesome that you would open us all up to see your birth. And i think you should do what you want. It is your birth, your baby, your life. Thats how women used to do that back in the day so why not now? YOURE AWESOME and a rock star for being strong and getting what you want! U GO HONEY!

  • oh and i have planted my two placentas and plan on doing so with #3 as well, its amazing how much faster the tree grows with the placenta int he ground

  • My only concern for hmoebirth is if i bleed to much but I have two hospitals within 15 minutes so I feel pretty safe. I wish you luck on your choice of birthing ant home and will pray all goes well for you and your family :)

  • It's a shame you can't get the things you want in the hospital, I live near a hospital named woodwinds where you have the option of waterbirth and aromatherapy, massage, doulas and midwifes. I am looking into homebirth but know that if I have to go to a hospital i have a place I can go where my needs and wants are met.

  • Aww I really love the idea of planting a tree with the placenta :) Best of luck!

  • Good for you for making the decision to have an unassisted home birth. Youve been through it before (childbirth), you know what to expect. I definalty wouldnt reccomend it to a first time mom (like me), but im sure youll do great! Are you close by the hospital just in case their are complications though? Good luck xxx Georgina

  • you, have the exact same feeling as me, but when i decide to have children when im older unless i have a hospital birth, i will have to have an unassisted homebirth because midwives attending homebirths will be illegal here in Australia in july. so its good to see someone who is having an unassisted homebirth so when i decide to have children ill know what its like :D

  • I think it's wonderful that you have educated your children, and plan on giving them the experience of seeing a sibling being born. I'm a student midwife, and my mother in law is a midwife. She raised my husband and his brothers completely honestly about pregnancy and birth, and the result is that they are all the most well-rounded men I've ever met. So, I wish you the best of luck with your unassisted birth. I'm sure it will be just amazing.
