well watever u say mate but this birds are origionnly from india only coz in india. there are 4 kinds of differnt parakeets which are 1st INDIAN RINGNECKS 2nd PLUM HEAD PARAKEETS 3rd MUSTACHE PARAKEET and the biggest 1 of all of them are INDIAN ALEXANDRIAN PARAKEETS ud find them in west bengal or south gujarat and they are origionally from INDIA.
FOR EVERYONE ARGUING: This is an Alexandrine parakeet. No doubt. Juviniles don't have a black/pink ring around the neck, the ring only developes in males at sexual maturity, usually between 2-3 years. Females never get the ring, In any circumstance. This is also NOT an Indian ringneck, as many are claiming (although to me it looks like a hybrid to some extent) which is quite closely related to the indian ringneck species. Indian ringnecks do not have the red/pink patches on their wings.
It is an Alexandrine because it has the light red patch on the wing, indian ringneck doesn't have that, and there is no ring on the neck yet because it is still a baby. The ring will be visible when it gets older. Same with the Indian Ringneck. The beak of the Alexandrine is very large in contrast to the indian ringneck.
It IS a ring neck . i have a alexandrine ringneck. and it can take up to 3 years for them to get the black ring. And sometimes the females never get the ring around their neck.
omg this video has gotten the best response from my green cheek conure than any video on youtube so far! He started talking back saying, "chester, chester" so cute!
looking at a lot of the other vids, it looks like ringnecks have smaller beak's?
