I'm not a Tucker fanboy, but I think the reason his ratings are horrible is that he doesn't feed people's desire for their opinions to be reinforced. I mean, he supported Ron Paul for god's sake. He's honestly one of the better cable news hosts (all of which are trash), because he could see both sides of an issue. I'm not a Tucker fanboy, but I think the reason his ratings are horrible is that he doesn't feed people's desire for their opinions to be reinforced. I mean, he supported Ron Paul for god's sake. He's honestly one of the better cable news hosts (all of which are trash), because he could see both sides of an issue. It's clear that ratings =/= quality, and that the top rated programs are the most hateful and simple minded.

One final thing: Crossfire had been on for 2 decades, trying to put his face on the show and claiming him responsible for it being cancelled is a bit silly.
Tell me, to this day, MSNBC is STILL trying to figure out what to do with the time slot they first gave him, now Lawrence has it. No one has worked in that slot. His one show that he had total control over, "Unfiltered" on PBS, certainly would still be on the air if he hadn't resigned to get screwed me MSNBC.

Oh and when Cenk says he's proven to fail all the time - wrong. He quit a successful show on PBS after leaving CNN to come to MSNBC who essentially continually changed his timeslot and format. He's had 2 of 4 shows cancelled. You've yet to get one

Look this is an AMERICAN problem, I have no idea about your counties affairs and dont really care. Why are Canadians so interested in America and think they can solve all our problems?? I live in the country and just like Canada their are not so many problems, cause folks WORK, its in our big cities where we have very complex social issues. Where folks have a sense of entitlement.

You misunderstood me - I'm not angry in the slightest, I was more baffled than anything. But you've clarified your feelings, and even though I still disagree with your overall sentiment, I can see now that you weren't being as simplistic as it first appeared.
And I'm sorry if you're offended by a Canadian having an opinion on American policy. We're awfully close neighbours, you know, so it's kind of hard for me not to take an interest in what's going on south of the border sometimes. /shrug

I just cant understand why folks cant understand a free market and the harm that the Government does when they regulate or in some cases, take over a private program. Why cant people understand the freedoms that we have in the US??? Ive lived in many countries that have government intervention in allot of things. Unfortunately with our propaganda, it is custom tailored to work on our notions hopes and fears, which is why it is so effective on us, but transparent to others.

@CutterSlade Few could explain it better. In the former socialist countries it's the ex-secret services who are in control under the mask of pseudo-capitalism. Same goes for the USA. After the Cold war their services still work, provoke "anti-terrorist" wars and try to divide the world into Good and Evil again. If they fail, they'll become obsolete so they try it hard...

@CutterSlade Yeah, though it wouldn't be useful to make generalizations because that would simply alienate anyone you were trying to have a discussion with. That being said, I live in the USA and enjoy doing so. However, yeah...this two party system is horrendous. It becomes more about discrediting/attacking the other party so much so, that no one has any legitimate solutions or factual information that hasn't been spun or tainted somehow.
It's a joke. Still it seems to be in for the long haul.

I think Hitler was able to push his ideals on people because he exploited underlying prejudices that the German people already had against Jews, coupled with pulling Germany out of a horrendous recession.
There was a bit pf propaganda in there too, but in all fairness, Hitler managed to fool most of Europe and the USA before he decided to invade Poland, and so not just the Germans were hoodwinked.

Then think about THIS quirkjerks. What about the wars that are happening each day on US streets? Who needs a dictator, when a country basically is an anarchy? Americans tend to think, freedom should mean that everyone should do how they like. But that's not freedom, it's anarchy.
Nowadays of course, gun control would be stupid, because TOO MANY weapons are in circulation. Oh, and just because a society is armed, doesn't mean it can't be turned into a dictatorship. That's a myth.
