does it matter where it was filmed, its a great movie, not to everyones taste, no oscars ( which means by default it is good) I enjoyed it, but I still agree with some bloke, that Ben should of hit on Kristie, oh and a great HQ you have to love the v8
The first time i saw Wolf Creek i admit i lumped it in with all the other slasher flicks that came out at the time. Just brutal and ugly for the sake of being brutal and ugly. But after a second viewing i've realized it's a lot more. Mclean's directing is raw and uncompromising and he's created one of the most unsettling horror movies i have ever seen.
Australian films suck...they're always about violence and gore instead of something with a real story. The make up effects, camera work and technical stuff are good and the actors did a good job...but there's no real point to this movie, only if you want to shit in your pants. Australia needs stories...not some fucked up shit that gives dickheads ideas.
@Aussiecats Sorry if I'm not a gore festing wanker. THERE IS NO film industry in Australia... or any country recognising aussie films...because who in the fucking world is interested in blood and gore? PEOPLE are put off by this shit and Australia has a reputation of making "bloody" and "gory" films that's why Australia is never taken seriously when it comes to film making. This isn't film making it's a couple of wankers who managed to get funding to play around with food colouring and make up.
@earthy075 I dont give to yanky shits how "popular" this movie was. some of my favourite movies are quite the opposite (take Interstate 60 for example)
Maybe they didnt want it to be a super box office hit, maybe we aren't as shallow and greedy as you fuckin fat yanks. Maybe, just Maybe, they wanted to tell a story, a story that deserved telling, because it was based on a real story........who wants to see a movie about 4 sluts in the city seeing who can get AIDS the quickest. Go eat a donut!!
@Aussiecats I am from Australia wanker, This film was funded by The Australian Film Finance Corporation in Association with South Australian Film Corporation...have you ever made a pitch before to these companies? You don't know shit about the film business. The story that deserves telling CAN'T ( CAN NOT) be told. Because the "pitch"...YOUR MOVIE has to follow certain rules and formulas to make it an "Aussie Film"...
@Aussiecats Even if you have a "MASTERPIECE". Even if you had a really good story and a really good script... you know what these companies force film makers to do? They rip up that MASTERPIECE...They say "THROW IN THE AUSSIE OUTBACK!". "HAVE SOME MORE KANGAROOS!". "HAVE MORE VIOLENCE AND BLOOD SO WE CAN SHOW THE WORLD AN AUSTRALIAN FILM ". Film makers with VOICES are unable to TELL THE STORY THEY REALLY WANT...instead they they have to resort to this...WOLF CREEK.
@Aussiecats The Australian Film Finance Corporation, South Australian Film, Screen Australia all these shitty companies in Australia, are too close minded about FILM MAKING and want all films to be "Australian"... to have the "Outback" somewhere..."Kangaroos"..."Blood"..."Beer"...a "Good day mate" line thrown in somewhere. They don't give a fuck if you wrote the next CASABLANCA or GONE WITH THE WIND. If it doesn't have the "outback", "kangaroos"...they will not give you money to make the film.
@Aussiecats Wolf Creek may be a good film that managed to follow the "rules". But seriously...Australia can tell so much better stories, BUT all these companies are too PROUD, too arrogant, too snobby to allow it. Australia is much more than just GORE and BLOOD, Good Day Mate and Crocodile Dundee shit. If Wolf Creek is the Best movie that Australia can produce...these companies can go suck a dick.
@Aussiecats Do you ever wonder why, Hugh Jackman, Heath Ledger or Miranda Otto go over seas? It's probably because of these fucking Companies in Australia.
@Aussiecats The film may appeal to Australia. But Australia needs to know how to fucking "reach a wider audience". They won't go far by making bloody and gory films.
@Aussiecats Fucking! I look at this page and there's only one Canadian commenting about this movie. All the other Youtube Accounts are Australian including mine. That's how "far" this movie went.
@WALKABOUTT the start is filmed in port germien south australia, i used to cone on as young lad right where ben picks up the girls after buying the ford, they used the same town to in the mini series " a thousand skies" to portray broome....
yep thats right, he could have been there for a random pit stop but theres no doubt he spotted them while they were in there( probably because they made a scene) and decided they were to be the next victims,
he would look for her everywhere, guys like mick taylor are relentless. Have a passion for killing no matter what. she flaged a motorist down and look what happened to him, They were all doomed the moment mick had them picked out way before they even got to wolf creek. Remember the video camera showing his truck at the truck stop where they stopped?.
That part slipped by me (been a while since I watched this) but that being the case, yep, it sounds like they were all fucked as soon as he latched onto them.
Taylor reminds me of the infamous truck driver in Duel, in that he picks his victims and sticks to them until they're dead.
thrill and pleasure, also the fact that he lived out in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do and he could pretty much get away with anything including killing people, no one would ever be able to track him down.
she had it the worst i think, because she got it from start to finish, and her tortured her terribly. also, she thought she'd got away and then she was hysterical and had completely given up hope.
i was literally screaming at the tv for her too survive
i know i was so effing pissed when she died, i was rootin for her the entire movie and when she died i was sooooooo upset lol i mean those girls had to put up with everything, ben didn't put up with SHIT. and he's the damn survior.
OMG, This would have to be the worst movie in history. I have heard of B movies, but this was just pathetic. How anyone can say this is freaky or scary in anyway, after watching the guy from play school be a killer, is unbelievable. I thought Australian movies were bad enough, but this would have to take the cake.If this is all Australia has in the line of actors/actress, we are in serious trouble. What planet are people on, thinking this is even remotely worthy of watching,I rate this movie -1
this si'nt about ivan milat this happened after ivan milat was arrested it happened in australia it was another seriel killer not ivan millat ivan millat is the backpacking murderer not the wolf creek murderer
well thetruthetony she probably stayed on the rode to c if there waz sum 1 passing by that could help her duh!if she went in the bushes she could hav got lost and im sure there would be more likely sum 1 on the rode than in the bushes! wat would u do?
yep she should have shot him again right between the eyes to make sure he was dead instead of running off in a panic. If i was in that situation i would be shitting myself yes, but the adrenalin would make me shoot the guy contiuosly once he was down on the ground.
I'm sure it must make Ivan Milat's 7 victims' families sick to their stomachs that this film is making capital out of the murder of their loved ones. I can't believe there aren't laws against basing drama on real events when the families are still alive.
I'm going to film school, and I've seen hundreds upon hundreds of films, and I can honestly say that that specific scene is one of my all-time favorite scenes from any movie, as crazy as that may sound.

The best thing for her to do would probably have been to hide in the roadside brush.
That way she'd not only be able to avoid Taylor, but she'd have been able to flag down a passing motorist or something.
