  • Its called 'side' not english, and i should know because i'm English. You are privleged to use our language, so use it correctly please.

  • @the8ballsurgeon

Americans call sidespin "English." Brits call it "side." I wish everybody would just call it sidespin.

Just remember ... don't put too much "American" on the ball. That's what my British buddy uses to refer to hitting the ball harder than you need to. :)

  • @the8ballsurgeon Really? Nitpicking on technical jargon?

Maybe the rest of us should use "colour", too, not "color" - because thats how you Englishmen use it.

Not everyone call nor spell everything the Brit way. Get over it.

  • Hey DrDave... i really have problem using banks.. there are so many methods but they are all hard to do, like.. you have to be close to be an expert for them to work...

  • @lohisc

There are some aiming systems that are fairly easy to use with certain types of kicks and banks; although they do take practice. For more info, and lots of demonstrations, see the "banks and kick" page in the FAQ section of my website (the link is in the video description).

    Good luck,

    Dr. Dave

  • cute!

  • ... but not sexy? :)

  • Nice shot! Are you hitting the cue ball at 8 o clock to make this shot? Or is it just left of centre ie 9 o clock? Thanks

  • ... just a tad below 9 o'clock. If you look at the super slow motion, you will see that the CB has pure sidespin at contact with the OB. If the CB were hit exactly at 9 o'clock it would develop slight forward roll on the way to the OB (due to drag action).

  • WoW I look forward to adding this shot to my arsenal.

  • is this also known as the jersey red shot?

  • I'm not sure. It probably has lots of names because it is such a famous 1-pocket shot.

    Dr. Dave

  • Is the 14 on or off the rail?

  • On.

  • Thank you.

  • a great shot it is hard to do that shot on my table because i have a uk pub/bar table with narrow pockets
