  • They love us in St. Louis/They love us in St. Paul/They even love us in Milwaukee and it drives 'em up the wall/that they can't get what we got here:/The great, great taste of our Schmidt's Beer./They love us-Schmidt's/They love us-Schmidt's/And it makes us feel so proud-at Schmidt's/It makes us so darn proud-at Schmidt's/It makes us so darn proud-SCHMIDT'S!!

  • There was a commercial back in the 70's where the guy who played Big Fig(Newtons) tasted that and Coors and thought Schmidt's(Philly) was Coors.

And there was the jingle:next post:

  • Schmidt. Perhaps the worst beer ever.

  • Thanks for the kind words, Tori. I enjoyed writing and producing fun commercials like this one. To see what I'm up to now, google B. David Warner.

  • shot at the Trestle Inn in Finland, Mn. Still an awesome bar!

  • Use to call it Schmidty Big runs.... closest place to get them was 35 miles away. Packed the cooler and headed back. Was good beer and good times.

  • That beer looked mighty good!! Literally.

  • My mothr & I loved Schmidt's Beer, drank it by the cases! There were other beers with different tastes, but the BEST all around good tasting beer was Schmidt's!

  • That must not be Big JIm

  • Love Schmidts Beer, I grew up 3 blocks from the brewery and we would take a case off the flat bed trains in the back of the brewery daily, and drink until we could not drink anymore as teenagers. What a childhood because of Schmidts.

  • schmidt is the sir name

  • I'm 22 and I like schmidts its alot better than those imports like heineken and budweiser.

  • @standupbassfiend How did you try it if they don't make it anymore?

  • What an "era gone by..." Good stuff.

    Thanks Dave.

    Cheers. 8^)

  • Big Jim's coming

  • It's nice to see someone remembered this "Big Jim" commercial. I wrote it back in the early 70s while working for Schmidt Beer's advertising agency Burton Sohigian in Detroit. It was a finalist in the New York Clio awards.
