Some of us see it as a hobby, a hobby we would like to get better at, just like someone who likes video games, or a craft, or a particular sport. These videos are a way for us to learn and explore more about makeup, whether it's just our hobby, or profession, or passion. I wouldn't say we watch them cuz we're vain or artificial.

@TheSoundjataKeita its a "girl thing" for us ladies. we're not perfect and we want to learn more about things, such as prettifying ourselves. its easier for us to "watch" it being applied than being merely told to do so. its also interesting for us to see how other ladies do their makeup.

@TheSoundjataKeita Believe it or not it takes practice and skill to understand what colors go well together, how to apply it in a way that is attractive etc. and girls find these sorts of videos interesting because it's a free of charge way to learn how to improve yourself. The fact that you're a guy really just tells it all though in why you don't find them interesting, it would be the same as a girl not understanding why guys find videos about monster trucks interesting =P We're different.
