The soundtrack for Inside man is great but can't figure out who does the opening song "Chaiya Chaiya" anyone know? Great vid by the way! very brave of you, be careful though perhaps accompanyment would be suggestable or a large dog. I know London is even more fascinating at night as I have travelled at night, you know clubs and the like but never wandered on my own.
The song was composed by film composer A.R. Rahman, written by Gulzar, and sung by Sukhwinder Singh. It became extremely popular quickly upon release and its music video gained the same status, partly because it was filmed on a moving train. The Hindustani version of the song is called "Chaiyya Chaiyya", while the Punjabi and Tamil versions are called "Thaiyya Thaiyya".
All from Wikipedia - I know nothing!! There's a version on the soundtrack CD featuring Punjab MC. :-D
I hadn't found it when I looked it up what is the ISBN number for the CD perhaps it is a different version of the soundtrack. I have been looking for a while now and had given up that the song was not on the soundtrack at least in the Canadian version
Such an amazing city, and I haven't even been yet! Am planning a two year stay between 2011 and 2013, with the Olympics sandwiched in the middle =D Great video NightgirlLondon, you've made me want to step on a plane this second and head for London right now!
absobloodylutelyamazing!!! Nightgirl you are seriously talented - as others have said i hope you're pursuing some form of work in media - you're made for it! creepy, alluring, inspiring, scary, magical - thats what this and part 1 are - just brilliant!
i absolutely love this one cos its the places i love best the gherkin, leadenhall and then you went to seething lane where i stayed with my mum. i was hoping you were going to go to mitre square. i love london so much with all the old little alley ways you get a sense of the past. hoping to come down again sometime soon, really miss it
London has a heart. If defied plans for modernisation, unlike the cities of continetal europe, it follewed the medieval street plan exactly after the great fire. There have been many attempts to regulirise parts, but it never works out. I heard one in 5 people walking down the street in london is a ghost, don't know what retard made that up, but it could be true.
Ha, you cheated by darkening everything, lol! Very effective, though! I like this a lot, especially part 2. I would have wet my pants in that graveyard though....well done!
Care to do any more graveyard scenes? That would be really interesting.
I also like night. I'm never sleeping before 3h00 AM when I don't have school. I already visited Toronto and I walked in downtown at 1h00 AM, it was very cool! I'm living in a little town of maybe 3 500 people and I find it really boring. Your video is really interesting because you make us discover shadow places of London. I hope you were in a safe part of London because sometimes it can be dangerous to walk alone in shadow streets of a high criminality area of a city...
Thanks for the kind words, and it's nice to hear from another Night Owl.
The area of London I was in was pretty safe overnight. During the day, it is home to all the financial institutions and so is incredibly busy, but at night, because there are no homes, no nightclubs or anything like that, it is almost empty of people. And incredibly historic!
Your town, even though it is sparesly populated, sounds really interesting, I'd like to see a video of it. :-D
reminds me of those reviews melody maker used to do about the band of holy joy in late 86 early 87.the dark streets of london captured in the band's music etc etc
The spooky image was just the door to the church tower. It's a really old church with a Wikipedia entry - St Olave Hart Street.
I wasn't looking for a late bar, though that would have made more sense! I was just walking around the City in the middle of the night purely for the sake of it. I kind of like that kind of thing. It is strange, I know...
i missed the last train back home on a night out so there was not mutch i could do but walked around piccidille leister spuar its was odd seing no people around at 3 am

Glad you liked it. :-) I didn't darken anything though.. in retrospect, I should have brightened it up a bit so more could be seen!
I do intend to film some more of the city's churches and church yards at some point..
Thanks for the kind words
