Is not an alternative intro, is the especial program intro Called "The Secrets Of The X Files", aired betwen Season 1 and Season 2, and hosted by Steven Williams. It was like a summary of season to get familiar with the series, it began to take hold and many do not start from the first episode.

This theme did have more action but was kind of more stereotypical of an opening theme for its genre. I also agree with stephietwin...it does have more of an 80's feel more so than 90's.

Thanks for sharing this alternative version Almareon01. For sure this intro is not as good as the one we all know and love, but its still pretty cool non the less. The documentary that this is from is on the Season 9 boxset :)

Even Gillian Anderson said that Scully needed a makeover and she did get one around S4 or so. Might have been S3.

When I first started watching it last month, my god, I couldn't get past all the horrid clothing, law enforcement/military tactics, et cetera. I cringed, but that does not matter in regard the the plot, stories and characters. That's what makes The X-Files brilliant and withstands the test of time.

That's way too cliche. It's like a throwback to bad 70s action series. Nope, the original opening with Mark Snow's now classic theme is irreplaceable. That let you know immediately that you were going to see something special and set the mood for it.
