Its a Choose Your Destiny if Miku wants to go with her brother or stay alive. Man I was shocked when a some ghost at the room was standing by Miku's side.
miku is just stuck in a coma. remember that before they vanish into some black soot (which means they're dead), they end up being in a coma for days first. when Rei defeted Reika in the end, she also released Miku from the curse. That is why in the end, you could see both Rei and Miku. :)

everyone says she dies but she doesn't, if she had died she would have vanished leaving nothing but the black mark behind, and in both normal and good endings you can see her with Rei at some beach, i wish she had died though, don't get me wrong i loved the character, but if she had really died that would have added more dramatism to the game and would have made me more eager to get the good ending

Uhm is this the real Mafuyu, or a manifestation of her guilt for letting him stay behind? I know she really longs to see him again so maybe that's why he's here? Because according to the FF1 ending he happily remains (although dead of course) with Kirie, so why would he be in the mansion? The real Mafuyu wouldn't lead his sister to her death...
Which makes a lot of sense considering Miku is Yae's great granddaughter and Rei's last name is Kurosawa....Kurosawa house from Fatal Frame 2...anyone? If she doesn't follow her brother, you must find another "escape". But when you try to enter in the Manor, ther will be a movie of the tattooed woman caughing you.

Then is the same scene of rei awakening. and i don`t know what would happen if i had left the mansion (because a had the oportunity)
@peachmonkeys There is a person named Pyschadelicsnake and he decides to go to the manor entrance. You can find him on youtube. =) He has done walkthroughs for Fatal Frame 1, 2, and 3. He's also really funny. =D

fatal frame 3 using characters from the first two games. just like ghosts from fatal frame where in fatal frame 2, but with more back stories. She's in the 3rd one because she feels pain from losing her bother and the ghost in this one knows that.
Well anyways. I suppose there is good symbolism going on here. Something about destroying yourself by chasing after the dead or something. Mabye. I don't know it's too late at night!

fatal frame 3 using characters from the first two games. just like ghosts from fatal frame where in fatal frame 2, but with more back stories. She's in the 3rd one because she feels pain from losing her bother and the ghost in this one knows that.

Miku never died.
She was mearly trapped in the Manor of Sleep.
She would have stayed in her bed like the woman who survied the plane crash. Stuck in the Manor until their fate is seal (Death).
Reis actions from the battlw with the tattooed maiden set her free (At the credits it shows a still picture of Rei and Miku sitting)
In an alternate ending it shows several pictures, one of them being Miku waking up and Rei hugging her.
Kei also survies, he brings Mio to see them (In a picture)

Well, that's if you mean the cutscene clothes. The walking around clothes are her pinafore dress you unlock after beating hard mode I believe :P
