Okay, I'm pretty sure Sarah only liked Hoggle as a friend. And she didnt like Jareth cause, well, he stole her baby brother (even though it was on her command) and is putting her threw a huge labyrinth, plus the fact he is mean to others. So it's pretty obvious why she doesnt like him.
@catlovesthbk He's also kind of a stalker if you think about it. Like most fans I love the movie and have a major fixation with Bowie, but unlike most diehards I can't see the Sarah/Jareth romance. I mean, he hits on her all the time and you can tell she's not feeling it. Her attraction to him at the ball is mixed with confusion and doesn't automatically mean love. I'm a total sap but for some reason I just can't see this relationship. It feels unrequited to me.

You think so? I only see it as him teasing him and not really focusing on a kiss being a 'love' kiss - more about a kiss Hoggle maybe hopes to receive for helping her, a reward for kindness or some such, and Jareth not really believing it'd ever happen anyway.
I'm not so sure. The fact he's more worthy, more boyfriend/husband material, that though he's not the prettiest, unlike Jareth, Sarah might just choose him.
A friendship that could quiet easily grow into more.
I still think Jareth viewed him as a big enough threat to threaten Hoggle about it. (and he did belive Hoggle would get a kiss-more then Jareth should get)
Jareth strikes me as a bit arrogant, and not easily threatened. <3 (mmm bowie) I think Jareth is clever, and understands Hoggle better than he lets on. Hoggle loves Sarah, and so...he's playing off of Hoggle's deepest desires and using them to mock and ridicule him.
i never assumd sarah would be with anyone at all but then after seening it again i realized that jareth was lik a little child in the way he thinks doin somewat cruel actions as affectionet(sp?) lik a little kinder punchs a little girl and runs away instead tellin her the truth its just lik childs play
im not sure wat i think of hoggle and sarah together but if jareth FINALLY grew up it might work out
