I bought this same model back in Jan 2008 and it still works great. It was even the display model so who knows how many hours it was on before I bought it. Both Blu and HD DVD's look great, also when I have it hooked up to my PC the games look wonderful. The only con is there is only 2 HDMI ports.

I just bought a 42 Inch Vizio, the speaker go all the way around.. I didn't even break the bank, bought at wal-mart.. It was a deal, a very nice deal and worth every penny.. it supports everything, HDMI 1080P Eco 1080p. I have direct TV and let me tell you It awesome..

not really, because there is no set standard, each brand rates its own product meaning two 1500/1 sets in different brands may not look the same. the only time you can judge is when both tv's are the same brand.

their is no standard for contrast ratio. vizios 1600:1 could be the same as sony's 2000:1

ATSC tuners have mandated by the FCC on all HDTVs since 3/1/07. It's also deceiving to compare contrast to the TV on the right when it's turned about 30 degrees.

I've got this 42" one for about a month. Agreed it's not the top of line, but it is never worse than many other popular models. Of course it's wayyyy better than my old Toshiba tube TV!!! Best dollar value on this LCD TV so far...

I brought 2 last year, one 37" for my son and a 32" for me. They have run night and day, my son plays Xbox on his, i watch NFL football on mine. great picture, after 10 months, no problems, no breakdowns. I'am looking at the 47" for other son.
