I just got red deltatail and a blue and red halfmoon a month ago! I couldnt decide which one to get so i got both. The red one is in a 5 gallon with a filter and heater and the other is in a 1 gallon until I can find a divider or a cheap 3-5 gallon. I feel bad giving one of them a crappy tank but I change the water 1/2 the water once a week and have $25 so far to pay for its new tank
@zebracakes9768 i dont know where your located but i got 30 diff ten gallon tanks for ten to 12 bucks each,, if your in california ill tell you where but 25 is more enough tank pump stones and a plant if you get 10 gallon which i suggest for some reason 5 and 2 and halfs cost more, even 1 quart betta bowls cost more than ten or twelve bucks for a ten gallon,, message me ill tell you exactly where and how to have complete 10 gl set up for 20-30 bones
@hihihihihihihihihi95 early on you go by aggression in short fins. Anyone getting nippy with their siblings are normally males and should be pulled out into individual containers as soon as possible.
@kritterkeeprk That happens. Make sure you are keeping their temperature up around 80° - they are tropical fish and can disease if left in cold water.
@jbzyang02 I use a large sponge with very mild air flow - mostly just to keep things moving a bit - they don't really need it and either way you should do regular water changes and keep the bottom of the tank cleaned up daily.
@nikoproks8 each will mature at a different rate. Left together, the females release hormones that slow the aggressiveness of the males - but not guaranteed. I pulled the males as they began to show aggression or were obvious so they would not nip fins.
@bettarescuer oh i mean they do. my bad. but if u put their tanks together for a long while they will get use to each other and theres a good chance they wont fight.
@dg1998original Your on the right track, When you put there tanks together for awhile the male will get use to her and will want to mate with her then it would alright to put them in the same tank but it will also be a lot of work caring for babies if you do

@kevinthao123 it doesn't stay perfectly clean - just do your best and keep up with water changes. The first couple weeks are important.

i see mostly red combodians. pure red or super red would be more desirable.
