@Spilorify the point of kicking bamboo is not to practise how to kick during a fight. The point is to kill all the nerves in the shins so that the fighter will feel no pain during an actual fight. Shins that cannot feel pain are deadly weapons.

It's true Muay Thai isn't what he is training in. Van D. trained in Kickboxing. Now i know someone is going to say what's the difference. There are too many to list short simple answer Kickboxing - is from every country except Thailand. Muay Thai is not just a fighting tech. it's also an art form. Muay Thai is also known as the art of 8 limbs. I traveled there and was trained a few weeks, it was no cake walk. It's banana trees you kick. Respect is earned not given.

@jls1znv9999 actually z is teaching him Muay boran/the old way with stone city,etc, muay thai is 8 limbs wich allow elbow strikes and throwing etc came after Muay Boran wich was used as Hands on Combat in The Past...American KICKBOXING is gay n has too many rules make it LESS entertaining.. and is a Great diss to the Original.BTW This movie is what got me into muay thai..lol..i went to fairtex and thats a tourist trap and they still dont play i plan to go to Northern thailand next year hopefully

It hit me that I could actually be one of those guys who trains and dedicates his life to training at the exclusion of all else and therein would find my happiness. Wishing you well in your martial lifestyle as well. Look into the art of Bokator, supposed to be the forerunner of ancient Muay Boran. Some of the original masters do not teach americans the full art unless we prove ourselves.
