  • Ford and Lynard Skynard one the best combos ever.

  • The guy that disliked this vid drives a Yugo.

  • Shittiest camera work on the planet.

  • call me the breeze....sick

  • Might have dipped into the 8's if the front end was kept on the ground.

  • @spokentruthfully It definitely has 8 second potential with that mph. I know a racer who has gone 8.90's at 150 in a naturally aspirated small block ford mustang.

  • F O R D.....

  • dats y i am a ford guy..and love the F,E .......

  • Man that is one bad son-of-a-bitch!

  • @drtyddsdndrtchp yeah that was fucking hilarious.

  • I know someone with a thunderbolt, never heard of it tell then.... gonna take a picture or it with my A-Team van someday :-}

  • Awesome car! Awesome launch!!

  • BADAZZ T'bolt, that coming from a Mopar guy. This breed of car was the reason Chrysler gave up on the, big wedges.

  • HEY MOPAR MAN WHAT ARE YOU EVEN ON THIS VIDEO FOR,DO YOU HAVE A SECRET LOVE FOR A FE. IT IS OK, BY THE WAY WHAT DOES YOUR CAR RUN.

  • @bigmrclean Whats it got to do with you mate?....I can look at what ever I want...why would I like a Ford engine when Chryslers are much better?....BTW my old small block 68 Charger did mid 13s over the 1/4....check it out"68 charger backing out of garage"....its red with a black vinyl roof

  • @68bobba You still didn't answer my question MATE. You can see me on fast time. My car run's 5.50's in 1/8th ALL DAY LONG.

  • @bigmrclean You actually asked me 2 questions....you asked me what I was doing watching this clip....like I said its none of your business what I watch...(Q 1 answered)....then you asked me if I had a secret love for an FE engine...my reply was why would I like a Ford engine when Chryslers are much better(Q 2 answered)...i told you the 1/4 time for my Charger,so what the fuck are you on about?....MATE??

  • @68bobba Yes you are correct you can look at whatever you want. If you are such a Mopar man and don't like Ford then keep your flapper shut. You come on a Ford page talking crap about an engine that would run over your charger and expect no one to say nothing. I'll say something every time. I wouldn't get out of the electric chair for a Mopar. Mid 13's eh? A stock 2011 Taurus will do better than that. MATE

  • @bigmrclean I didn,t say I disliked Fords....the Cammer and the Boss 429 are 2 of the best engines ever built...plus I,d love to have a 69 fastback Mustang....nor did I say my old Charger would beat a 427 tbolt over the 1/4....you asked me what it did and I told you...I wasn,t talking crap,I was stating a fact...the hurst Hemi Dart & Cuda(plus the Plymouth & Dodge A-990s) were better...I think some of you tunnel visioned Ford fans need to be reminded of that....now YOUR the one talking shit

  • Probably my most favorite car of all time, more like my dream car. The Fairlanes were great looking cars and the T-Bolt definetly fit that breed! Combine those looks with the 427 Big Block and a 4-speed tranny = pure love and happiness right there.

  • I love how the last minute is left for the chevy people to digest that well...you know.

  • I love thunderbolts ,they were very near the top of the food chain in its day. not much could beat them long live the blue oval!!!!!

  • @krankensteinrocks Do the words"Hurst Hemi Dart"mean anything to you?...10.5 second 1/4s from the factory...no factory Ford came anywhere near it

  • @68bobba ANOTHER MISINFORMED MOPAR CRYBABY WAAAAAAAAAA WAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

  • @krankensteinrocks Whats misinformed about it?....no factory ford car could beat a Hurst Hemi Dart over the 1/4 ....those are the facts, pure and simple....the Darts and Cudas were the top of the food chain....fords were the food

  • @68bobba umm when these ford thunderbolts came out they was ford's answer to the ramchargers. i believe they put everyone in there place back in the day.

  • @TSSCPTkilla whatever you say mate

  • SPEED KILLS DRIVE A CHEVY AND LIVE FOR EVER

  • I saw these cars raise in Detroit in 64. Chrysler Mopar ruled and dominated. But these little Fords won when I saw them. I believe, at the time, that owners had to sign an agreement not to race these cars on the street.

My dad had a 63 Fairlane...but not anything like these cars..lol! Wish he did!

  • @topgeardel Kind of like the cammer getting banned from the ovals. Can't beat em, ban em.

  • @Rogge1980 But what a straight line!

  • I you do a little research on the history of this car. You'll find that it was so fast that other guys that didn't have one bitched an moaned so much to the NHRA that the NHRA changed some rules which effectively banned the car from competition.

  • These cars put a lot of racecars on the trailer back in the day, and just did it again this is what FORD is all about young punks dont have a clue...

  • Comment removed

  • mustang srry to say it but the old still buts the kick in ur ass

  • Badass wheelstand

  • What engine???..did it use Nitrous???..is it an original bolt or a clone???..to be a true bolt it will have had to run the 427 wedge head high riser engine with cast iron block and heads..if this authentic then please respond..if not..tell the truth...something not right with this......

  • FAST ! 243 Km / Hour and 9.235 Sek !

  • @raginroadrunner authenthic 427 Hi-rise 600+ hp race enegine

  • Why is there NEVER a stock production Chevrolet in these areas ???..ya never see them when the big guns are runnin..must be ..."Chicken"!!

  • camera work sucks...what engine???....Nitrous???..we ran these cars in the sixties and this engine does not sound right....we went 10 flat in Western Nebraska..in 1967 on straight pump gas...anyone help me with this???

  • camera work sucks

  • All I can say is Ford power.

  • is the car all factory or dose it have modern parts

  • it's the breeze, cool

  • Hi Stinger, HA HA, Blue ovals don't break anymore often then bowties, thats all in your head, and not really factual.

  • First On Race Day!! Go Ford, Go Blue!!!!

  • defrank & cohen had that A body cuda on top for aleast ten years. it was quick too. this guy has great launch ....

  • Im 19, and this is hands down my all time favorite car. No particulier reason, just becouse it stands for something.

  • I drove my Dads 64 1/2 Thunderbolt to highschool in '77-78. Wicked cars. I tore the rear bumper off at Barstow road and Main street showing off for my girlfriend.... She was not impressed. XD I never drove it again after that , my Dad took they keys away and sold it. LMAO!!!

    Ahh, the memories. :D

  • @ShadenGheist Are you telling us that it was a GENUINE thunderbolt, these cars were extremely rare and almost unstreetable, only 100 were ever built.

Acording to your profile you were only 18 at the time, how does an 18 year old handle a weapon like this. If this is to be believed your dad must have some genuine photo's of it to post here.

lets hope you are not talking bullshit

  • @davembanks Actually, I was 16-17, and yes It was a true Thunderbolt. He traded a 1970 Hemi Super Bee with a blown motor for it in 1974. The motor was gone, but he built a 427 side oiler for it and raced it in California for 2 seasons, never won anything with it and let me drive it to school when I got my license. It was an Automatic car originally. He put a 4 speed in it when he raced it, but put it back to auto for me. That's how it was when he sold it. I don't know if he has any pics of it.

  • @ShadenGheist i bet your dad is kicking himself for selling it concidering the value today, any idea what it would be worth now.

The rarest ford i have seen in nz is a 1970 hollman & moody mustang

  • @davembanks He probably wouldn't have sold it , had it had the original motor. He knew what it was worth, even then, but he was pissed that I was out hot rodding it.

What did he expect? I mean really? LOL He still won't talk to me about it. He just clams up when I mention it.

If I win the Lottery, (Yeah, I know, LOL) I'll buy him the first one I see at the Barrett Jackson Auction. :)

After I buy the Hemi Super Bird I want.

    XD

  • @ShadenGheist must be the ultimate buzz to have driven both of those classics.

In nz we have a lot of muscle cars from the states, i owned a 73 Mach1 and a 65 289 ranchero, stripped both to bare metal for a restore which did all myself as i was a car painter.

used to drag race the mustang, it ran low 14s also had a genuine kawasaki Z1RTC only several dozen made in stock condition it ran high 10s but not built for drag racing, in the states (you guys built these things)

    nice to talk to you

  • @davembanks I never go to drive the Superbird, but I did ride in it. I was with my Dad when the motor went. That was the first time I saw my Dad cry. Not sobbing type crying, the type where you know saying just one wrong thing will bring on the Sobbing. It was painful to behold.

    I have a 53 F100 right now that I'm restoring. It has a 65 289 4bbl and C4. It should run pretty strong.

Check out my channel to see what I do for a living. :)

  • @ShadenGheist What do you mean channel

  • big skynyrd fan, saw them in asheville in 75, but i am sure glad you waited for the real music to be over before skynyrd came on. that thunderbolt is music to my ears. a beautiful car. wow!! that is awesome. hope you guys continue to enjoy it. peace

  • this is probably the most forgotten about super muscle car, factory 11.6 @ 124mph.......thats as fast if not faster than any car today, its ashame people get wrapped up in mopar, and gm, and even the shelbys, this car probably owns 95% of them

  • @outdoorsman766 But this T-Bolt broke that factory record!

  • @outdoorsman766

In fairness, these cars weren't anywhere near factory stock. They were purpose built drag cars not suitable for the street. I'd give my kidney for one though...

  • @outdoorsman766 T-Bolt, Camaro ZL-1 and the lightweight Hemi cars. Sure, there are fast cars today, but they're nowhere near as fun to drive!!

  • As an old Ford guy from the sixties, this really turns my crank! Thanks!

  • faaaarrrrkkk awsome thunderbolt at 9.23 at 151.32 mph

  • This car is a blast to watch in person. Mr Featherston's attitude about actually racing a factory produced piece of history is awesome. Whether the people in the stands are Ford, Chevy, or Mopar fanatics, most of the people know what this car is and what it means for this car to still be going down the track at 46 years old. It also explains the ear to ear grins on everyones face- including Mr Featherston's. Un-be-lievable. Thanks Phil

  • Dave the video looks great and imagine you caught the history forever. Good work

    Wayne C

  • Awesome Phil ! Looks great you are the T-Bolt King !

  • Hell Yea

  • Awesome accomplishment. FE power forever!
