I just wanted to answer assindiastignani, since it's obvious that he/she never saw Giovanna Casolla live. Well, I had the privilage of seeing her in the arena di verona as Turandot. It is a shame that on tape more than half her voice gets lost. Live, she has a huge, beautiful, full voice. Her pianos r equal to fortes of other singers. I have never heard a voice quiet like hers. I suggest you go see her while you can, it's an extraordinary experience!

@796824 "A major difference" ?? That's putting it very politely. They're not only not on the same page, they're not in the same book, on the same shelf or in the same library. Stignani was a dramatic mezzo-soprano. This is a (very nice) medium lyric soprano with a few low notes.
