  • can you create and save your own voices?

  • I was sold on it @ 0:14, I'm glad I didn't buy the Roland SH-201 or Yamaha's CS1x or AN1x. This machine is pure awesomeness! I'll be playing with this for years.

  • What if you want the MicroKorg XL to sound like a Mini Moog?

  • What patch is being played at 1:15 ? It's like ear sex.... an eargasm, if you will...

  • Comment removed

  • what sound is that at 0:22??? love that sound

  • chord hit

  • i was messing around with one of these at guitar center, and i came across a preset called "dominator" is this on other/all korg synths?!?!?!? i have never bought a synth before, but i am in the market for 1... if this is on the r3 or the microkorg, then plz, tell me!!!

  • i think it would be

or if not it wouldnt be hard to re create

  • im not sure wether to go with the microkorg xl or the r3? i have enough money for both but with the r3 im worried itll sound too trancy (darude style) and im more into the synth sounds of m83 and air but with the microkorg xl im worried the build quality will be a bit shoddy as it doesnt look tooo durable anyone got any advice?

  • The R3 and Microkorg XL are based on the MMT.

So I think that the quality is .. *the same*

    Get the Microkorg xl..

If it sucks...Send it to me I'll give you my adress per pn. ;)

  • I have an r3, and the presets are trancy, but you can make plenty of mellow and analog-like sounds if you experiment. Alot of the presets are shitty techno sounding ones, but you can definitely get some quality sounds out of it.

  • I have played many times on an R3. The only thing I can say is that I feel a little bit confined sometimes. I have not tried the MicroKorg XL, but I am definitely interested in getting it.

  • If you want M83 sounds just get the regular microkorg with the wood panels. That synth uses the same synth engine as the MS20 and MS2000 which M83 uses in a lot of their music.

That said, synths are all about experimentation and programming. No matter what synth you get, if you want original textures and sounds like M83, you're gonna have to turn some knobs.

  • i know this is a bit delayed but if you still havn't gotten either the microkorgs looks are deceiving.

it somehow manages to be lightweight but extremley sturdy at the same time.

e.g nothing rattles in it, knobs don't move side to side etc

  • Can you use the Microkorg XL's pitch and mod wheel in Reason and Ableton as midi control?

  • id kill for this synth

  • only around 475 at a music store... not that bad compared to 2000 dollar workstations ;(

  • it would have been shameful to use the vocoder in public ,,you just got to love the Japaneses scene of pride .

  • lol!

  • I've got an o.g. microkorg. From what I could hear, its the same sound engine and presets for the most part. Outside of aesthetics, whats the difference?

  • USB

  • The keys looks much better too...

  • i tried one at the guitar center. The keys may look different but they still feel like the old one... small, plasticky, and cheap.

  • I disagree 180° - the XL keys feel much, much better - actually playable!

  • The original sound engine was from the MS 2000. It had 4 note poly. This engine is from the Radias, has 8 note poly and is more editable on the fly. I have the original too. Love it. This also has more PCM sounds for piano, elec piano, Rhoads etc. Not better, just different. Tried one. Very cool! Keys do feel better though. Black keys have an equal feel to the whites. On original the blacks had more resistance which I found a little distracting.

  • yeah i hate the keys on mine.wish they would make one with weighted full size keys.and you can get they rhodes sounds on the original.just takes some tweeking

  • Howd you get a rhodes tone? Can you message me the presets? I've been trying to get a quality piano, and rhoads tone, but haven't gotten very far...

  • 0:29 is KILLER !!!

  • The string sound at 1:15 is pure MS2000/Microkorg!

  • woot giant kaossilator in the back

  • Saw a brand new MicroKorg XL on ebay now. Seller: Ghostdivision88

  • this guy chooses propably the worst presets in micro...

    cheers for him

  • Sanodg is the best.

  • japs are funny dudes.

  • why are you a racist?

  • from 0:14 to 0:41, you can tell that the musical side of sanodg was ready to come out once he heard that synth sound. wish he would have kept going. thanks for uploading this vid.

  • it not as good looking as the original microKORG and i'm not sure about the sounds. im happy with my black key limited edition

  • hopefully its about 200 dollars cheaper, the only way they could sell it to me

  • Brilliant.

Sounds every bit as cheesy and crappy as the current microKORG.

    Thanks, Korg!

  • What kind of music do you like? I only ask because the micro is used on alot of albums from a variety of genres.

  • I like anything from electro, to 8 bit to Post rock, to ambient.... That stupid indie guitar stuff with added synths.... And I'd love a nice Rhodes tones once in a while.

I just couldn't find... Well I got one or two, but not many sounds I was happy with.

The fact that all the patches had delay annoyed me also.

    And the keys...

Well, I intend on getting rid of it soon and simply using a nice Midi keyboard and Reason so I don't worry too much.

  • you can take the delay off the sounds in 2 secs bud just learn how to use the thing

  • It's the principal.

I should be putting delay on in two seconds, not having to take it off, to suit my taste.

  • Sanodg.the man himself!

  • what?

  • sanodg playing the MicroKorg,he is the man : (he is a legend!)

  • oh I see thanks
