Ah, it screwed up my last post! The random line of numbers goes with the last 7 chords. I was also wondering if it's a weird tuning. By that I mean anything other than Drop X, Standard or Eb/#.
666th viewer. Is that good or bad? good job, and I play this song in Eb with a 21 fret guitar and it sounds fine. All you half to do is just find the right spot at the pickups and slide your left hand up and down quickly. But your tapping improvise sounded really nice
Hey, I really would but unfortunately I don't really have the correct equipment to do so, you need at least a 22 fret guitar to play the solo, which means I play the song in standard tuning in drop D (the song proper is played in E flat like most Weezer songs), so I think I might end up confusing everyone rather than helping! Plus.. solo aside, it should all be quite easy (and fun) to figure out by ear!
The best strictly guitar cover of this song I've seen on here so far. I just posted my first video of me playing Say it Ain't So if you want to check it out but it's not as good as this video. Where did you get your Pinkerton tab book from?
yeh it's in e flat.. but you need 22 frets at least, as he goes all the way up to about the 24th fret for the pick tap (though I just go beyond the fret board and tap where the 24th fret would usually be), so anyway, I'm tuned to standard in order to reach that 22nd fret note bend right at the end, so I'm playing everything a fret lower basically. The bottom E is dropped to D as well, since there's an E flat chord I would otherwise not be able to reach in standard tuning.
Is that a fender Jazzmaster?

@e11i0tt5m1thfan no, sadly a squier jagmaster.. But plays very well, nonetheless!
Although I recently modified it with some bareknuckle abraxas humbuckers. Am currently working on a coil tap. Might post a video when it's all done.

Wow what the hell did you do on the solo with your pick lol, awesome

I believe this song is played one step lower, so Eb, Ab, C#, F#, Bb, eb.
But because all chords are power chords it doesn't really matter...
Nice job on the solo by the way!

hey.. i'm in standard tuning.. and drop D. So everything is played a fret lower.
lopsided75 3 years ago
Okay, so from lowest to highest it's D A D G B E?
nsiderultimaseth 3 years ago
yeh that's right..
So I'm starting the first powerchord at F#, on the 4th fret of the D, A and D strings..
lopsided75 3 years ago
the main chord progression... is it 7 7 7 9 7 2 4
5 5 5 7 7 9 7 2 4 4
5 5 5 5 5 7 5 3 2 2
3 3 7 5 5 7 5 3 2 2
Cause that's what I'm told, but yours sounds better and looks completely different.
