  • no offense , but do you actually call that a lesson ? how can a normal person study how to play this song only by "watching in a little slower" .. if you really wanna teach it , and not like all the snobs who just play and show off their skills , upload a video in which you actually tell me where to put my fingers , and what to do with my right hand .. or at least UPLOAD THE TABS !!

everybody who's with me , like this for him to know .

awsome playing by the way T_T

  • At the end, that sounds like the Chet Atkins solo that he does on a duet with Jerry Reed.

  • @movesguy It is!

  • This is fantastic. I've been wanting to learn this song for a long time but never been able to find a transcription of it. You're examples are great and I really like the fact that you are playing it normal speed and then just slow enough to hear the individual phrases and get the fingering. This is perfect. Now I need to put this on paper so that I can remember it after I get all of the phrases happening. Huge thanks to you!! You are making me a better player!!

  • Thanks man. In less than a minute (last 40 seconds or so) you were able to make me feel like I know nothing about the guitar.

    Lol

  • @ManosOfTerra Why do you say that?

  • @radzz1 I've been playing for 3-4 years now and I could sort of follow along with the song.. but when you played that solo and the improv on an acoustic guitar.. it made me feel like I don't even know how to play the guitar lol.

In a way, I was trying to say "good job".

  • @ManosOfTerra Thanks! I play acoustic quite a bit.

  • This is by far the best vid on playing this thing. I've been playing for decades..I'm not saying how many. I mostly play jazz and love this stuff but it goes against the rules as it's pretty much banjo picking. I've never done banjo rolls on the guitar. You're never too old to learn something new. I will get it once my brain is re-trained.. Slowing it down really helps although I imagine once you learn it..slow is harder. Thanks..

  • @mikegotcha1 Thanks! It was a very hard song to learn. I looked for lessons on youtube but nobody had one so figured it out and posted my own lesson. I haven't played it in a while so I might have to go back and learn it again from my own video! lol

  • @mikegotcha1 GOT IT! great lesson

  • fake

  • your last name is rodeo?!?! SUITS THE SONG

  • tabs is at songster

  • thanks!

  • Outstanding!

  • Awesome improv at the end.

  • Sweet sound, man! Awesome pickin'!

  • yawww brainfreeze !! thx for sharing :) I'm on it ...

  • Could I have my tabs please.

  • @surfstomp I don't have tabs

  • You are superb teacher, beautifully demonstrated, thank you.

  • which country is your clock from......we have the same for Surinam........btw I play a taylor also (same I think).........thnx for the beautifull third part of your tutorial.........!!!

  • You can play it with a flat pick if you do it hybrid style.

  • @radzz1 please do a lesson of the chet part that was fantastic

  • Hey i play with a pick is that okay? i can hit all the notes and stuff but is it better if i played with my fingers?

  • Yeah for sure! This is a great lesson in Jerry Reed. I had most of it down but doesn't hurt to check out how others do the tune...thanx!

  • Thnx thats great! Jerry is a bit tricky but I figured if I get the exact notes then its a matter of getting his timing down because of his kind of fingerstyle. I'm getting closer but I still have Merle stuck in my fingers!

  • this is good, ur speed isnt the fastest speed, but it gives me a milestone to reach in terms of how fast i can play it b4 the real tempo ;)

    thanks for the lesson

  • THANKYOU!! finally a good tutorial for this song!

  • @hendrix0is0lord I was in the same boat! This song is very hard to learn by ear.

  • @radzz1 you make it look so easy! Any tips on how to get the song speedy? or just the technique in general.

  • @hendrix0is0lord Play it slow and use a metronome.

  • Great tune, cool,thanks.

  • thanks! helped a lot.
