  • How is this related to Dave Foley of The Kids In The Hall?

  • I've been processing deer for 17years and never seen it done the way you do it. Is it because your showing people how to break down the deer? Great video. How many deer do you do a season. We just finished here in Waynesboro Ga. and processed over 1000.

  • thumbs up if john's phone brought you here!

  • @ilikeitinthebuttalot Firefox + Video Downloader...

  • Thanks a ton for this video man my little brother shot a deer this last weekend and my father needed a guide to do this so thanks and keep up the good work

  • We always have processed our own deer. I wish I had listened to my grandad a little more closely while he was here for he was a butcher an so was his father. All your videos gave me some tips and expanded my knowledge farther than what I knew. Poor sound or not, I don't really care. Thanks alot for the good videos!! =D

  • we juist did it it was hard

  • I am 39 and have never skinned or processed a deer, heck I have never used youtube before either. But I have found these videos extremely helpful for trying this on my own. Keep up the good work.

  • I thought my headset is broken

  • Can you cook deer ribs like pork ribs? I know they will be very lean but JW

  • @jrose2020 Very tallowie, not too good

  • @jrose2020 I love venison, I was also brought up to use all of the animal you can. But I have never had venison ribs that were worth eating. I have even tried to debone them for buger and for alot of work you get very little meat. They are very good for coyote bait. I use all four quarters, neck and backstraps. Now on this video he cut part of the backstraps off on the top of the ribs. I take it all off the top of the ribs in one piece per each side.

  • Can you cook deer ribs like pork ribs?

  • brb i just got to find a gun a forest a deer and a shit load of axes and knives and saws.

  • You are a natural teacher and these videos helped my years old technique. Must useful deer processing video on youtube.

  • i gave a negitive for the horrible sound, maybe narrate it yourself with a good mic please??

  • Does it matter if i use a human for this experiment ?

  • Thanks for the Video. The sound is a bit wacky but very well done. Thanks.

  • WOW soon as you cut the backstraps in half I had to turn it off, WHAT A HACK!

  • @lpar81 I think The man knows what he is doing, but I feel your pain. I would never cut it like that at least not the backstraps

  • It is Willie Tanner from ALF, isn't?!

  • can you dry age deer as you would beef?

  • wait isnt killing deer illegal?

  • @nilboi999 I bet in most countries. definitly not!

  • @nilboi999 maybe some places. not in North America

  • @nilboi999 No. Why would you think that? Deer are extremely plentiful.

  • MR.BUSH @ 0:08

  • All bone should be used as stew bones and then give to a dog or two if you have em.

  • The sound is bad.

  • Thank you for the video it was very helpful iv cut a few deer myself but was not sure exactly what i was doing and now you have cleared it up for me. So now i can process my own at home and save some bucks Thank You .

  • great vid

  • beautifully done and very respectful done for the animal and the meat

  • this guy looks like a serial killer

  • I have been hunting for 20+ years. I have been trying to le arn an easy way to process my deer at home do to butchers in my area charge so much to process one. I must tell every one that these videos are vary easy to follow for anyone that wants to learn how to process there own deer at home and save some money. I highly recamend you to take a little time and watch them. and yto the makers of these videos way to go awsome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The shaky camera was a bit distracting but otherwise this was a very informative and helpful video.

  • you are gay

  • Comment removed

  • i'm watching this because of my fascination with human flesh

  • worst audio of all time

  • actually i take that back....it is better to hang them if you want to continue hunting....but yeah you do need a shady spot and relativly cool environment...i hunt in cold conditions, just dont want the sun on the thing, that could be bad, but im pretty lazy, i kill one i take care of it, im no professional

  • my grand father sorta did this but not any more we have to eat....so its not a bad thing its just to be healthy but i don't wanna see animals die in a bad way but in a fast easy way is good :\

  • i am hungry now !!

  • WOW!! Well Done! Quite educational. I am a retail meat cutter and have never broken down a whole animal, but now feel confidant that I can do it no problem. Thank you.

  • Thank you for posting! I myself am not a hunter but i just wanted to get an Idea on how this was done in case one day, for whatever reason, I need to do it myself. I find it very interesting. I have alot of respect for people who do this and I find nothing wrong with taking an animal, as long as you intend to use it.

  • I was impressed until he pulled out the saw. there is no need for that if you know what you are doing, and not sawing the pelvis saves you a step later. no need to saw the ribs either, unless you just like them. there is no meat there worth fooling with imho.

  • This is fucking disgusting ! Why do stupid people still eating meat ?!

  • @Elennae Because it tastes sooooooo good.

  • @Elennae because it is tasty, good for you, and in the case of venison, is a source of protein that is free of commercial steriods. and they are just plain fun to kill :)

  • @Elennae Because we naturally need meat and that red meat is one of the strongest fuel for your body. Also it's good in taste.

  • @Elennae - Stupid? You are an Idiot!!!!! Humans eat meat. You don't like it, don't watch this or any hunting video and keep your comments to the people who care about what you Think!

  • why wud u make a video about this?! wtf

  • @hellohowaryoutoday to show people how to cut up deer obviously. refer to my post above if you have a problem with this practice.

  • Is deer tasty or not really?

  • @lol0000wut among the best meat there is if it isprocessed correctly. Unfortunately, most processors ruin it in my opinion. I do all my own processing as a consequence.

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • fuck world!!

  • I love animals, raise a lot of them as pets and I do not hunt. Having said that... my guys DO hunt and have killed 3 deer so far this year. I don't normally do the butchering but this year I did. I am preparing for the second half of deer 3 and I have used this video for every one. I live in a small home and had no problem cleaning them using only my kitchen table and limited room. My heartstrings tug a bit but it's low fat fresh meat for my table and given the economy I'm grateful my guys hunt.

  • Mmmm, tenderloin.

  • Huge thank you! You're very clear and encouraging.

  • My cats love it when I butcher a deer at home. I grind up the scrap pieces and feed it to them as a treat. They have seven 1/4 pound packets so far from the deer butchered today. Happy times.

  • if it wasnt for meat you wouldn't be able to anywhere to eat its 90% of food served anywhere! Willie is a good meat cutter, my parents custom cut elk, bear, pig, beef, deer and lamb! They do it from the slaughtering to the finish product! Except wild game and it is brought to use then stored in the cooler until processed

  • Cuts so easily o_o I'm fascinated..

  • 16 veiwers are vegans.

  • i never knew people actualy butcher a deer AT there own home..

  • awesome video thank you for posting, this is really very informative. I am about to process a deer with a large shot through the shoulder. Is there any way to save the meat? It is pretty mashed? Or should i just throw it out? I hate to waste a whole shoulder.

  • @Shutterfire well i know ur probably already done but with things like that u have to play it by ear ever shot produces different results

  • Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with the general hunting public. Screw the "dislikers" you did an excellent job of presenting this and thanks again.

  • Great video..I usually take my game in to have it done...I wanted to try it myself and watched your video about 6 times, to get it all right...I butchered the Deer I just killed, yesterday...It took around 6-7 hours and was wraped and in the freezer. The wife even joined in to help wrap it...Shocker...Thanks again for the knowledge and a great video series...I can't wait to do another one. Click on our channel and see what we do :)

  • I came because it's intresting to watch how our foods butchered. I understand what needs to be done and how our food gets to out paltes but i dont think i could butcher one myself.

  • I'd support proper hunting over factory farming any day!

  • Keep worming Asian girls # lushfmlk.info #

  • How long should I let the meat age outside before I tear into it? And Whats the purpose of letting them hang for a few days? Thank you for posting this.

  • @Stormclouds777 If you have a a cool, but not freezing place to hang your deer, it will get a little more tender as the tissue starts to break down. The down side is that few people have such a controlled enviornment. There is no harm at all in cutting up the deer as soon as you have time to do it. Fresh cut beats out improperly aged meat any day. Just make sure that it has at least cooled down completely, which should happen overnight. Best of luck. Bill

  • @williescountrymeats Ok, Thanks for the quick response! Im considering doing it myself this year. My dad kills deer every year, and its always just been easier to take it to a butcher. The only downfall is I dont own a meat grinder. Burger is my favorite! Thanks again Bill.

  • @williescountrymeats i have heard that you can age the meat for a few days in a cooler with the drain open and dump ice on it every day to maintain the temp.....any truth to that??

  • @Stormclouds777

You should not age venison. It servse no purpose. Ageing is for beef which has a higher fat content. You will never notice any difference except for them that leave it to long in the sun and end up sick or throwing it away.

  • @exhaustedSpark I don't know...It does seem to make it slightly more tender, in the case of mature bucks (this coming from someone who has cleaned a LOT of deer). But It isn't a huge difference, you are correct. And if you don't do it right then you can end up with a lot of ruined meat. If you aren't sure of what you are doing, best to just clean him asap.

  • @Stormclouds777 theoretically you dont have to let the thing hang...but i like blood and guts....the only thing i let hang are turkey, but i hunt and butcher elks which are heavy bastards, and i have nowwhere to hang a beast...it is not a big deal...but if you dont like blood, i can see how your question is valid

  • @jimmybahri We really should persuade lions to stop eating meat!!!

  • Thanks for the help. I shot my first deer last week and today I'm attempting to butcher it. I've watched this video 4 times so I should be all set.

  • @trizoyd way to go!!! Yup Willie is the man on butchering.

Sinnining it is the biggest PIA! keep the hair out!!

  • @mchar69 Thanks. The butchering was a success. It almost look a pro did (but in 6 hours). LOL. Today I've got 25 lbs of meat to be made into deer sausage. I can't wait for that.

Thanks again for doing this video.

  • Thank you so much for your sharing your wisdom!

  • Im a Girl and i work as a butcher :) Repping them girls and im doing my THANG!

  • great video on butchering you're deer it helps to get all the meat you can

  • nice

  • @ all those complaining about any process involved in getting food on the table. I personally hunt and fish, yet I have a great respect for all living things. It isn't that (most)hunters don't agree to a sanctity of life, it is simply that we respect the necessary cycle of it. We see death as a necessity to life and place humans within the natural cycle of it. We involve ourselves into our ecosystems and through careful management, can make use of them.

  • A lot of people are asking why people hang deer. For one, it is easier to skin. Two, and most importantly, people talk a lot about it "stretching" the meat after rigor mortis. Really though, it takes 3+ days for enzymes to break down the chemical binds that happen after death. The longer you leave it, the more decomposition takes place, and the more tender the meat.

  • Awesome Video!!! Bill you do an great job of showing and explaining how to properly cut up the deer. I would buy a DVD from you in a heart beat, Please make one!!!! and include your other videos as well, cow, pig, etc

  • Make venison stock with leftover carcass. It's delicious.

  • I would end up cutting my fingers off if I tried this.

  • way to saw through your back straps. De-bone and turn into lean burger and yummy sausage! The rear end of the deer is the best the rest is useless meat!

  • Also I would like to add that animals have no rights and peta are full of crap. My base is everyone loves dogs right? I bet they have pet, anyways I say if they have kids they love their kids. So say their kids are being attacked by a dog what are they going to do? I bet they attack or distract the dog. They only want to save the cute animals and not the ugly, violent ones. Rats, armadillos, and other animals carry disease that are deadly to humans, so do the cute ones. TB, Chronic wasting, ect

  • Great video, love peta( pet eating tasting association) ha. Anyways god put animals on earth to feed mankind, I bet that anyone who complains abut this has a leather belt, shoes or leather something. If people did not kill animals they would over populate, then they would run the streets causing more accidents. Imagine some animal loving family driving their hybrid hitting a deer it goes through the windshield killing their family now thats horrible...because we hunt we save lives.

  • Thanks for a very good instructional video. I shot a buck today and decided it was time for me to process my own meat. Hung the deer, went on YouTube and found you. watched you, put you on hold, did what you instructed me to do... came back to YouTube, watched your next steps, put you on hold, went back to carry out your instruction. Now in the process of wrapping the end product. thanks so much

  • God gave us them to injoy and to eat if we don't keep them in check they will get over popalated and get deiouses and starve i am a meat eater and i belive in fair chase

  • We should invent a synthetic meat substance, with all the protien and flavor and minus the 'source'

  • thanks for the video

  • Aside from the audio it is a great video. I do not have the room to do this in my own home. If I had a garage, it'd be on the rafters with plastic tarp on the floor and a Saw Horse table. Thanks for the information

  • thats a big ass deer

  • I have actually worked and have pics to prove that I have worked in a deer cutting shop a couple of years ago... Not gross at all.....

  • Look I don't object to liking meat, but can't we find a less...gross alternative? YUCK!

  • @DuskRenegade I understand that it may be gross to you, but look at it like this is meat in its purest form. No machines ripping the animal to pieces, this is one guy cutting up a deer that was harvested to be eatin. I have a dream that one day I will be able to live on only the food that I grow in my garden, the fish I catch, the wild game I take, and what ever I grow on a mini farm. No harmful growth hormones, I know where everything came from. I think we'd all live a lot longer that way.

  • @bubbacrabb Good for you! I do it already :)

  • @bubbacrabb True, true.

  • @bubbacrabb Not harvested, killed. One harvests grain or vegetables. Animals are hunted, killed or slaughtered. "Harvest" is PC hooey that has infected outdoor/hunting writers and bubbacrabb also. Man up to the PC crowd. Meat is not manufactured nor is it a row crop. BTW, nice vid. Send me all of your gristleloin. It runs on both sides of a deer's spine. Bambi equivalent to carp. Barely edible. You don't want it. Really.

  • @Jomammacita You can use what ever word you like. I just think the word harvest sounds a little better to swing the left into accepting the sport we all love so much. There is no "man up" needed. As I am man enough to handle you or anyone else for that matter. So take it down a notch there bud. Dont attack people that support your passion as you do. We're all going to eventually face the same fight together. You'll want someone speaking PC terms at that time.

  • @bubbacrabb Sorry. I didn't mean to sound as if I was attacking and didn't think the "man up" would be received as if one was overly sensitive. I only meant to stand up to them instead of catering. You might consider taking it down a notch if we are on the same team. I never implied a physical threat. I'll stand by my proper definition and connotation of harvest. The disney freaks and peta know what is meant by harvest. We only fool ourselves.

  • @Jomammacita wait. you're saying deer is "barely edible"? please explain.. i eat venison about twice a week from the deer i hunt. that's your opinion, to me, asparagus is "barely edible"...

  • @nujerrzdevil I meant that the meat on either side of the spine on the back as well as the two strips on the belly side of the spine are no good. You should not eat them but send them to me properly wrapped and frozen. The rest is fine. I had a guy at work preparing for his first deer hunt convinced of this line until my good (ex) friend told him I was after the choicest cuts. :o) I tried. I'm actually a vegetarian. I only eat animals that eat plants and grain. Happy Thanksgiving.

  • @Jomammacita ha ha ur an ass... but a smart ass lol hope that trick works on someone (as long as you send a plate my way)

  • @bubbacrabb That's exactly how I want to live!! You've got it bro!!!

  • @bubbacrabb AMEN brother!

  • @DuskRenegade You mean like tofu, now that's yuck.

  • @MrBobsrevenge Hell no

  • I love how the non-hunters come in here and hate on these videos. Yet I bet they eat meat. Any of you who criticize this, and yet eat meat of any kind, are hypocrites. what exactly do you think they do to cows, pigs, chickens, ect? Stop watching Bambie and think about what you say. end of story. If you do not eat meat, at least I can respect your position, though I do not agree.

  • Comment removed

  • @DontBePartOfTheProbl Well, if you eat meat, how would you propose that it is obtained? I am assuming of course that you do not agree with what is portrayed in the video here (ethical harvest and consumption of wild game animals). SO if you do not like hunting, and do not like animals being "farmed for death" as you put it

  • btw your words imply a sense of cruelty that isn't necessarily there. my father-in-law farms cattle, and he takes very good care of his stock. Not just because they make him money, but because he cares for them. I have seen him cry because of a cow that was injured. Yes they are ultimately destined for someone's freezer. However, too much anthropomorphization is done by many people, and they therefore think that this causes the cattle pain or anxiety, and thereby is cruel. this is a wrong view.

  • @aaron2691 he a fucking butcher hows that cruel retard

  • @1840218403 I didn't say he was cruel...I am a hunter, and fully approve of what he was doing. maybe you should think before you open your mouth, if that isn't too much to ask. Or if you meant to say" how's that not cruel", maybe you should learn to proof your comments before you submit them. In either case, be quiet unless you have something significant to contribute to the discussion.

  • @aaron2691 sory i ment to write that to somone else

  • @aaron2691 Or their typical response would be, shame on you hunters!! Why don't you just buy meat from the store where they make it! lol I've had people seriously tell me that, no jk dumb asses!! lol

  • @aaron2691 But why hunt?? For fun?? As a hobby?? In that case I don t agree. Great hobby to kill animals! If only you had to kill to stay alive.. I would understand. But most hunters kill more than they can eat. And yes I eat meat too, but killing animals for fun I can not understand. I DO respect though what DuskRenegade says, trying to live close to nature and live from what it gives you. But than you should also hunt that way; Only kill when you need to and use ALL the part of the animal.

  • @NatuurlijkRhodos I hunt for the following reasons: 1. High quality meat in the freezer for cheaper by shooting it than I can buying it at the store (I clean them myself, have never taken one to a processor. And I do not pay for access to land, I hunt public and a few spots friends own). 2. If I kill it, I am controlling the process by which it is prepared. I don't have to wonder if it was properly prepared, or what the animal was feeding on.

  • @NatuurlijkRhodos In my woods, I know what they have been eating, and I know there are no steroids in it. 3. The animals must be die anyway. Either they can be killed by hunters, or be allowed to starve to death en mass every few years, destroying habitat along with them. If they have to die, then I would just as soon eat them myself (some people say dumb things like reintroduce predators, or sterilize the herd. Neither of which works very well, and would be problematic and expensive

  • @NatuurlijkRhodos 4. I enjoy it. I love being outside, I enjoy the challenge of sharpening my skills enough to take my quarry, and the sense of accomplishment when I take them. I enjoy continuing on a tradition that spans eons, and I take pride in the fact that if our civilization ever does go to hell in a hand basket, then I might just survive because I know how to do these things.

  • @NatuurlijkRhodos all of these reasons are likely not enough in your mind to justify hunting. That is fine. But bear in mind also that most of the wildlife in this country that liberals seem intent on protecting wouldn't be there (or wouldn't be accessible to the public) were it not for hunters. You have hunters to thank for our national park system (roosevelt), our national forests, and most of the places where wildlife can be observed in natural habitat. Thanks seem to be in order I believe.

  • om nom nom that looks good :3

  • Thanks for taking time to show us how to do this. Want to save as much as possible. Thanks again.

  • i hope someone does that to you......... asshole

  • is there a "gland" tht can mess up the meat?

  • I've done about 100 deer myself and have never tried the method separating the carcass into sections like this guy has. I do separate the front shoulders right away but never have cut through the spine. Don't know if I'll try it but it does give me some new ideas. Thanks for the video.

  • omg people are so stupid read previous comments I said I was mislead here by some stupid ass kid on face book. I left this vid alone and then I get some random ass people talking to me. Seriously I stated my opinion and if you don't agree with it then stfu and stop replying to me.

  • does he have a video on how to butcher a small child?!?!?! need to know asap! Thanks!

  • A hook....A little knife...a sharpener.....and nice gloves...

*Takes out a big saw* Oh, and this.

    ....D:

  • Looking at vegan videos, I have not found one comment about telling them how to live their life and what to eat. Why do all of them comment on our videos? I find that weird.

  • Nice Butchering, boning knives, sharpening steel, meat saw! You can buy one like it here:

ChefDepot . com / kitchentables . htm (copy link and put together)

  • Great video, and I heard the audio just fine

  • great video, but the sound cut out almost immediately. Still, I can follow along.

  • thank you for this video!

  • ok, why doesn't it have any audio? it has it for a second, then it cuts out?

  • why.......there is room for all gods little creatures right next to the mashed potatoes hahaha

  • Great video!

How long was the deer in the fridge before you started cutting away? What temperature?

Thanks! My pops was a butcher, but I never payed attention when he was alive. Regretting it now.

  • @PFDLOANS hi! in the fridge, between 6-9 days. 4-6 degrees celsius, have a good season!

  • these videos are great! especially because i plan on butchering all my own deer this year....

  • kinda hard to remember it all the first time.. you gotta do it urself a few times to get good..

  • this is why im vegetarian o.o

  • @TeenNewsLive why?

  • @laredo444

    Because I find this disgusting

    @homeostasis4me

I never knew not eating meat makes you a homo nice trollin :)

  • @TeenNewsLive eating meat is good for you. mixed in with greens on the side it will help u grow big and strong.
