gotta love the ignorant buffoons who proclaim this mindless half witted video to be a piece of art. which part of this is art exactly? Its just making a nuisance out of herself in a public place. letting loose and lightening up? Surely you can find a better place to do that so?
Do u think commuters who are boarding and alighting will be appreciative of such barbaric and juvenile behavior? this is a civilized society not the fking zoo. such pointless acts should only be condemned not condoned.
calm yo tits and read the description of the video yo. singapore needs more fun, we're too boring and anal (you can tell from all the negative comments).
was this your hypothesis & the reason for you to make such "performance" that you call it art? Plus not the majority of ppl were even using their phones. Each of us have our own opinions & it's of no point for you, @wonderjellybean to keep defending this so called experiment.
I really don't understand why every looks so stoic and serious and are keeping their heads down in the iPhones. What's wrong with laughing heartily at other people's deliberate antics? Worst still, those armchair critics.
Lol this video is pretty funny! It was pretty amusing to see people's reactions and I think it is great that there are people daring to even try this so kudos to you!

And honestly, all of you sound very idiotic - as if your opinion is the only one that matters. So either tell the creator how to improve or shut up.

@LiewDarWin It's not like they're physically harrassing anyone... If anything they're providing a free show. Not very different from buskers on the street what. Why so rigid? :P

@MrGorillaGaz courage? you have gotta be kidding me if you term this puerile behaviour "courage". Please do not talk about social standards when you quite clearly possess the intellect of a spoon. Im not a fan of Singapore's friendliness or social etiquette but surely if you use this as an example or even worse a yardstick, then you're definitely having a laugh!! what a joke
The fact that most Singaporeans are upset or even disturbed by this video (Even though most of them weren't even there in person when this happened) is a testament to the fact that Singaporeans are generally uptight with no sense of humour.
Art or not, the creator didn't cause any damage. If you were traumatically scarred by this, you are too damn sensitive. Seek professional help, please.
@Archigearour Hidden between your lines are insinuations aimed directly at Singaporeans. Without getting to know or experience our culture here (Well, I derived this from your tone), you have no stand at any extent to ridicule. Along the years, Singapore has labelled these kind of behavior as inconsiderate and inappropriate. Nobody wants to make a apparent fool of oneself. At least, I stress, be a bit more creative. Not just some mindless shouting and running around.
@92397658 I've lived here for 14 years, I know the languages and dialects, I'm aware of the cultural memes and social norms (however much I frown upon them), and for goodness sakes I know the local profane dictionary well enough to start a guided course at any good university. Credentials in order, I don't speak for Singaporeans.
You are quick to speak for Singapore, and what Singapore labels as inconsiderate or inappropriate. True creativity challenges conforms. This video, prime example.
@Archigearour "You are quick to speak for Singapore". I AM a Singaporean, that will probably entirely defeat the purpose of that phrase. 14 years for you, 19 years for me. So am I, under any circumstances, more superior, status-wise, than you? Partly yes, but no. If we are uptight about behaviors in public, while Malaysians, can I say, are uptight about money? Fretting over disturbances is common among us, mankind. Just that we have react differently to various stimulations.
@Archigearour PS: For your information, the game "Angry Birds" isn't even indirectly portrayed in this video. There is neither relation nor relevance. Not ranting about their connection with the game, but even if they aspire to generate public awareness, I am sure there is a vast number of branching possibilities for attracting attentions. You are quick to jump into something so general, like creativity, whereas I reprimand because people has done better. Learn.
ok u said its meaningful..look at the ppl around u in the mrt..wat do u see?..does it change ANYTHING in the mrt?..if there r no changes..are u gonna do this vid everyday until u see differences?..iphone is meant for ur eyeballs to stick onto the screen..wats wrong with that?..or is it just because u dun have an iphone??? ppl in the mrt r like..wth is going on?..i would really wan u guys to consider the actions b4 executing it..
@cm18 Yup it did change. People looked up from their iphones. Lol you missed the whole point. The iPhone is not meant for your "eyeballs to stick onto the screen". That's called addiction.
So? What is wrong with thinking "wth is going on?"? Are they harming the train passengers? Doesn't seem like it.
@wonderjellybean If people have to harm one another to be badly commented on, then I find no point in complaining because the family above you turn up their volume too loud. Why? Because they are not, in any way, harming you.
ok so this is only for ppl with iphone to be aware of right? ok phew..seriously..ppl wants a peace of mind while traveling..and ur creating nuisance..no doubt you have the balls to do this..but seriously ppl will think u just came out of woodbridge..==
Very, very poorly executed and an incredibly shallow interpretation of the theme. It is too literal, and I can understand the use of pop culture, but it does not in any way reflect isolation caused by technology, nor does it aid in the self-reflection of our modern society. At best, it is a cheap public nuisance. Rather than having this, something like a projection of 'Angry Birds' (if you MUST use it) on the window of the MRT with an actress mock-playing it would be much more effective.
@Antarctic1 LOL!! I wouldn't want even bother with such a ridiculous idea such as projection on a wall which the video camera will hardly be able to capture without the person's reflection in the window. And where would the projector be pluggin into? Someone obviously did not think of feasibility of ideas before sprouting suggestions.
@wonderjellybean It looks like you will need to be more open to ideas. The theme behind is relevant and I think it works. The execution was just substandard. Before considering the feasibility of an idea, one must first have an idea. things like power sources and reflections can easily be dealt with and most of the time is not so big of an issue for us to go "OH NO!!! REFLECTION!!! OMG PERFORMANCE ART FAIL!!!" This was my suggestion and my comment, you do not have to chastise Antarctic1.
@wonderjellybean why do you have to go so defensive? because you can't stand criticism? this goes to show how little respect people give you...because you are like that all the time. you look at the video's number of likes and dislikes and you should know where your "quality product" stands. SHIT.
TO those of you saying that this video is stupid, why? Did you not READ the description, and find out WHY this video was made? Could you have made a better video? Do you even have the balls to do anything half as daring?
To those of you who are saying it is a disgrace, please, Singaporeans disgrace themselves in uglier ways. Why is doing a parody like this a disgrace? You feeling butthurt because you are one of those zombies with your eyes glued to your iphone all the time??
@wonderjellybean It is stupid because the act is poorly conceived, and performed badly. In fact, the actress herself can't even suppressed her own laughter to act "angry".
It is neither entertaining, nor does it provoke any meaningful discussion or thoughts. So please don't call it art.
@molewall She's already wearing the angry birds outfit (with an angry face on it), and the birds in the game don't even sound angry anyway! The sound they make is this "AHHHH HEH HEHEH HEHHEH" which is not angry imo.
And who is to say it doesn't provoke any meaningful discussion or thoughts? This performance actually got people to look up from their iPhones and NOTICE their surroundings, which is exactly what she was trying to achieve.
@wonderjellybean You can pretty much achieve the same thing putting two kids in angry bird and pig costumes and set them lose running around the train. Everyone will notice them too. How does this performance add any value at all?
If there are any meaningful discussion or thoughts at all, you will have seen it in these youtube comments by now. So far, most of what we got are condemnations of a poorly executed act.
@molewall So far I have seen people saying how poorly executed it is, but hardly anyone has mentioned how to improve it. So, they are all baseless comments with nothing to back them up. I will not even bother mentioning about your "kids running loose on the train" comment because it is ridiculous and unconstructive.
The comments here sound like they're from people who just viewed the video without thinking of the meaning. And obviously from people who think they can do better.
@wonderjellybean Because no one bother to suggest how to improve on a hopeless act, they are baseless comments to be ignored? Have you even consider the possibility that most of these people have given thought to the video and think that it is really bad? Just because you put a video on YouTube and slap a few sentences in the description does not make it automatically meaningful or art. Want to see good works? Try ImprovEverywhere.
@molewall ImprovEverywhere is an awesome group of people dedicated to doing things like this. They have a lot of time, manpower and resources. How can you compare them to these people? They are probably just a bunch of students who have 2 weeks to do a group project. Surely you can cut them some slack?
And if you must mention ImprovEverywhere, how different is this from someone in a Storm Trooper suit entering the subway and abducting the princess? Apart from the more professional costumes.
@wonderjellybean The difference is ImprovEverywhere conceived, planned and execute their acts with passion and dedication. They are a group of volunteers and enthusiasts who come together to do their best to perform. The result is an act that are much better done and more well received.
This video is done so poorly by students who are doing this for the sake of finishing an assignment. If it is really bad, we tell them it is bad. If we keep telling them it is good, how can they improve at all?
@molewall You are reinstating my fact that they have a lot of time, manpower and resources. As an individual group, not an organization, I believe they have done the best they can with the resources that they have. It's easy to say things, but much harder for it to be done. That's all I'm saying. Instead of spreading negativity and hate, why can't we provide encouragement and kinder words even if you wanted to tell them how to improve? There is no excuse for rudeness and harsh words.
@wonderjellybean ImprovEverywhere are a group of volunteers doing it in their free time. Saying they have a lot of resources couldn't be further from the truth. I think the difference is that they are passionate about the things they do.
As for rudeness and harsh words, I think you should the very first comment you posted that I responded to.
I think the students should pretty much get the idea from the comments and rating they are getting. I have spent more time than I care to give in this.
@molewall Those are the key words "free time" and "volunteers". They are students. They have to work with what they have, ya?
And I fail to see how my comment was rude or harsh. Did I use any swear words or call people retards? Don't think so. I was just saying instead of being so angry and uptight about things, people should cheer up a bit, be more lighthearted, for goodness sakes, live life a little! This is supposed to be amusing but people get angry for NOTHING!! Did they offend anyone?

Along the years, Singapore has labelled these kind of behavior as inconsiderate and inappropriate. Nobody wants to make a apparent fool of oneself. At least, I stress, be a bit more creative. Not just some mindless shouting and running around.
92397658 10 months ago
@92397658 I've lived here for 14 years, I know the languages and dialects, I'm aware of the cultural memes and social norms (however much I frown upon them), and for goodness sakes I know the local profane dictionary well enough to start a guided course at any good university. Credentials in order, I don't speak for Singaporeans.
You are quick to speak for Singapore, and what Singapore labels as inconsiderate or inappropriate. True creativity challenges conforms. This video, prime example.
Archigearour 10 months ago 2

Learn.

ok u said its meaningful..look at the ppl around u in the mrt..wat do u see?..does it change ANYTHING in the mrt?..if there r no changes..are u gonna do this vid everyday until u see differences?..iphone is meant for ur eyeballs to stick onto the screen..wats wrong with that?..or is it just because u dun have an iphone??? ppl in the mrt r like..wth is going on?..i would really wan u guys to consider the actions b4 executing it..
cm18 11 months ago
@cm18 Yup it did change. People looked up from their iphones. Lol you missed the whole point. The iPhone is not meant for your "eyeballs to stick onto the screen". That's called addiction.
So? What is wrong with thinking "wth is going on?"? Are they harming the train passengers? Doesn't seem like it.
wonderjellybean 11 months ago
@wonderjellybean If people have to harm one another to be badly commented on, then I find no point in complaining because the family above you turn up their volume too loud. Why? Because they are not, in any way, harming you.

I would like to see a version of yellow bird crashing through the glass panel.

cm18 11 months ago
@cm18 Well if they are too stupid to figure that this was all acting......
wonderjellybean 11 months ago
Very, very poorly executed and an incredibly shallow interpretation of the theme. It is too literal, and I can understand the use of pop culture, but it does not in any way reflect isolation caused by technology, nor does it aid in the self-reflection of our modern society. At best, it is a cheap public nuisance. Rather than having this, something like a projection of 'Angry Birds' (if you MUST use it) on the window of the MRT with an actress mock-playing it would be much more effective.
guywithballz 11 months ago 4
@guywithballz your comment makes 100% sense, look at wonderjellywoman who doesn't know how to reply to you...cause she knows you're WINNING.
Antarctic1 11 months ago
@Antarctic1 LOL!! I wouldn't want even bother with such a ridiculous idea such as projection on a wall which the video camera will hardly be able to capture without the person's reflection in the window. And where would the projector be pluggin into? Someone obviously did not think of feasibility of ideas before sprouting suggestions.
wonderjellybean 11 months ago
@wonderjellybean It looks like you will need to be more open to ideas. The theme behind is relevant and I think it works. The execution was just substandard. Before considering the feasibility of an idea, one must first have an idea. things like power sources and reflections can easily be dealt with and most of the time is not so big of an issue for us to go "OH NO!!! REFLECTION!!! OMG PERFORMANCE ART FAIL!!!" This was my suggestion and my comment, you do not have to chastise Antarctic1.
guywithballz 10 months ago
@Antarctic1 And seeing as how you resorted to making fun of my username shows the level of your maturity.
wonderjellybean 11 months ago
@wonderjellybean why do you have to go so defensive? because you can't stand criticism? this goes to show how little respect people give you...because you are like that all the time. you look at the video's number of likes and dislikes and you should know where your "quality product" stands. SHIT.

For performance art this is kind of badly done. And it's filmed from a handphone? Could've been done better. Much better.

wijeyekoonjoseph 11 months ago
Okay.
You feeling butthurt because you are one of those zombies with your eyes glued to your iphone all the time??
wonderjellybean 11 months ago
@wonderjellybean It is stupid because the act is poorly conceived, and performed badly. In fact, the actress herself can't even suppressed her own laughter to act "angry".
It is neither entertaining, nor does it provoke any meaningful discussion or thoughts. So please don't call it art.
molewall 11 months ago
@molewall She's already wearing the angry birds outfit (with an angry face on it), and the birds in the game don't even sound angry anyway! The sound they make is this "AHHHH HEH HEHEH HEHHEH" which is not angry imo.
And who is to say it doesn't provoke any meaningful discussion or thoughts? This performance actually got people to look up from their iPhones and NOTICE their surroundings, which is exactly what she was trying to achieve.
wonderjellybean 11 months ago
@wonderjellybean You can pretty much achieve the same thing putting two kids in angry bird and pig costumes and set them lose running around the train. Everyone will notice them too. How does this performance add any value at all?
If there are any meaningful discussion or thoughts at all, you will have seen it in these youtube comments by now. So far, most of what we got are condemnations of a poorly executed act.
molewall 11 months ago
@molewall So far I have seen people saying how poorly executed it is, but hardly anyone has mentioned how to improve it. So, they are all baseless comments with nothing to back them up. I will not even bother mentioning about your "kids running loose on the train" comment because it is ridiculous and unconstructive.
The comments here sound like they're from people who just viewed the video without thinking of the meaning. And obviously from people who think they can do better.
wonderjellybean 11 months ago
@wonderjellybean Because no one bother to suggest how to improve on a hopeless act, they are baseless comments to be ignored? Have you even consider the possibility that most of these people have given thought to the video and think that it is really bad? Just because you put a video on YouTube and slap a few sentences in the description does not make it automatically meaningful or art. Want to see good works? Try ImprovEverywhere.
molewall 11 months ago
@molewall ImprovEverywhere is an awesome group of people dedicated to doing things like this. They have a lot of time, manpower and resources. How can you compare them to these people? They are probably just a bunch of students who have 2 weeks to do a group project. Surely you can cut them some slack?
And if you must mention ImprovEverywhere, how different is this from someone in a Storm Trooper suit entering the subway and abducting the princess? Apart from the more professional costumes.
wonderjellybean 11 months ago
@wonderjellybean The difference is ImprovEverywhere conceived, planned and execute their acts with passion and dedication. They are a group of volunteers and enthusiasts who come together to do their best to perform. The result is an act that are much better done and more well received.
This video is done so poorly by students who are doing this for the sake of finishing an assignment. If it is really bad, we tell them it is bad. If we keep telling them it is good, how can they improve at all?
molewall 11 months ago
@molewall You are reinstating my fact that they have a lot of time, manpower and resources. As an individual group, not an organization, I believe they have done the best they can with the resources that they have. It's easy to say things, but much harder for it to be done. That's all I'm saying. Instead of spreading negativity and hate, why can't we provide encouragement and kinder words even if you wanted to tell them how to improve? There is no excuse for rudeness and harsh words.
wonderjellybean 11 months ago
@wonderjellybean ImprovEverywhere are a group of volunteers doing it in their free time. Saying they have a lot of resources couldn't be further from the truth. I think the difference is that they are passionate about the things they do.
As for rudeness and harsh words, I think you should the very first comment you posted that I responded to.
I think the students should pretty much get the idea from the comments and rating they are getting. I have spent more time than I care to give in this.
molewall 11 months ago
@molewall Those are the key words "free time" and "volunteers". They are students. They have to work with what they have, ya?
And I fail to see how my comment was rude or harsh. Did I use any swear words or call people retards? Don't think so. I was just saying instead of being so angry and uptight about things, people should cheer up a bit, be more lighthearted, for goodness sakes, live life a little! This is supposed to be amusing but people get angry for NOTHING!! Did they offend anyone?
