Mind you, the class 22000's they have on this service are great, really smooth an comfortable. Class 29000s have atrocious ride quality. Remember travelling on them from the likes of galway and carrick on shannon, at times they would lurch violently from side to side, i thought the fucking things were going to derail! All said, totally unsuitable for long haul journeys.
I agree with many of the contributors on their views of the green commuter railcars, as tanktevez calls them "glorified darts". But what else would you expect from a Dublin run organisation, who most likely drive to their cross country destination in mercedes or BMW or some other prestige cars and not realising the trauma of travelling on a 29000 railcar. It may be ok to travel on to Wicklow, Kildare or Meath, but for the rest of the country C.I.E (Dublin) could'nt give a rats ass !
irish rail should have NEVER takin these trains off the wexford line them green commuters are shit, even if they ran the mark 3 push pulls it would be good. there all railcars these days anyway
My Lordz! Thanks to CIE for keeping loco haulage well into my adult years, giving me the opportunity to relive my youth spent on BR bashing all sorts of interesting traction. I was in Connolly station a couple of weeks ago and was horrified by what I saw on the Sligo trains. I went up to Belfast behind a 201 class and even though I sat in the seat closest to the engine, I couldn't hear any thrash at all. /////air conditioning\\\\\
