Hes not an inherently bad person, hes just profoundly fucked up from his childhood. Hes had an exceptionally hard life and since all the people around him treated him badly, he developed the him vs. the world mentality. He happens to be good with words and intuitively knows how to manipulate people. Hes as good a man as anyone else but the world brought out the bad in him.
