I really respect Robbie but we need to put something into perspective here. His father (God rest his soul) did all his jumps with a motorcycle that weighed a whole lot more than what Robbie & other daredevils are using today. A heavier bike calls for a lot more danger & a plethora of extra variables & skills to take on board. Robbie landed on the flat portion of the ramp, just short of the ideal slope landing. Had that been a bike like his fathers, the jump would be credited but the result...?!

as good as it looks lets get 1 thing straight.he didnt jump over 24 trucks he jumped the distance of 24 trucks and even then they removed the cabs of the last few trucks.if you watch this clip it shows clearly that he didnt jump over any trucks.

The ramps were right beside the truck cabs and no cabs were removed from any trucks. What you are seeing is the safety ramp over top of the truck cabs. He did in fact jump over 24 trucks!

Because it is a record. He wasn't trying to set a distance record, he was trying to set a record for jumping the most trucks. If he was going for a distance record there wouldn't be anything between the ramps. You have to remember that there are different kinds of jumps and different kinds of records. Its not just about distance. He wanted to break the truck jumping record at Kings Island because his father set a record there in 1975 when he jumped 14 Greyhound buses.

They did not remove the cabs on the last 4-5 trucks...they just moved them back to make room for the safety deck. And I'll bet you it was Cokes idea to do it that way, as those trucks probably cost over 100 thousand a piece and if Robbie came up short, they didn't want their trucks busted up.
