What Strings are Jake Shimabukuro Using?

Question: Hows the tension of the strings on your bridge? Because its hard tension guitar strings I was wondering if that strong a string would pull on the bridge harder.

I too use guitar strings but only on one uke cause theyre expensive. =)

@olu143 I'm not sure... But honestly They're super easy to bend which makes me think the tension isn't that great... My guitar friend said that he thinks the reason Jake uses the hard tension is because of that super fast strumming he likes to do.

Thanks for this, I've got a spare set of both the hard and extra hard tension Pro Arte for my classical, might string them up on the tenor and do a comparison. I've also got some German made flamenco specific strings that I might try, should have fantastic 'punch' and brightness to them.

if u buy the d'addario tenor ukulele strings u will see that the packages holding the strings actually says classical guitar strings on ther. so this is the same as buying the d'addario ukulele strings except for the fact that the "a" strings is the only extra hard tension string

i've applied the formula and love it. HOWEVER i used the j4403 as c string and j4402 as e string. any thoughts?

Whatever works for you. As I understand it Jake constantly tries differenct combinations to find what works for him.

Possibly. I'd be really scared to try them on a Soprano but a concert could probably handle the tension.

I used this one for a about a year, and i prefer Worth Clear, kind of thiner, and with a brighter song. Try them !
