also bei sowas sieht man mal wieder wie bescheuert die "Künstler" sind. Solchen Menschen fehlt einfach nur irgendein Gen das sie zu sowas bringt. Und den Menschen denen sowas gefällt haben wahrscheinlich von dem falschen Gen eins zuviel. Tut mir leid aber das hat mit gesundem Menschenverstand nichts mehr zu tun!

Das ist ungefähr genauso sinnvoll, wie Rasenmähen mit der Nagelschere, nämlich gar nicht. Aber für solchen Unsinn hat Cage ein Händchen. Ob man das als "Kunst" bezeichnen will oder nicht, ist Ermessenssache. Ich finds grausam.

Was soll das sein? So ohne erklärende Worte finde ich das sinnfrei.

Ich spiele selbst Orgel in dieversen Stilrichtungen, weiß also zwei bisschen über Orgelmusiken Bescheid. Aber da lob' ich mir doch meinen mal wieder kürzlich gespielten Henze "Toccata senza Fuga".

Also ich bin selbst Musiker und finde auch Zugang zu allen möglichen Arten der Musik. Ich muß allerdings sagen, dass ich nicht verstehen kann, wie man sich für so etwas, für mich absolut Sinnloses begeistern kann. Zumal es noch nicht mal interessant klingt, wenn man es "schnell" spielt. OK es ist etwas besonderes, aber dass ist echt wieder so ne Sache, die die Welt nicht braucht. Für mich absoluter Blödsinn.

In my opinion Cage was just a giant joker and kidding all time. He surely thought: "I want to see how far I can go until people realize that I just take the piss out of them." When he sees now how serious people take his "as slowly and softly as possible" he surely sits on his cloud and would laugh himself to death (if he wasn't already) ...

Ich meine ja, daß Cage in Wirklichkeit ein riesiger Spaßvogel war und uns alle mit seiner "Musik" nur auf den Arm genommen hat. Er dachte sich sicher: "Ich will doch mal sehen, wie weit ich gehen kann, bis die Leute merken, daß ich sie nur verarsche." Wenn er jetzt sieht, welches Brimborium um sein "As slow and softly as possible" gemacht wird, sitzt er sicher auf seiner Wolke und würde sich totlachen, wenn er es nicht schon wäre ...

Im sure its not what John Cage would have meant but I think this is great. think about it. It binds a community together for 639 years. People have to pass this on. Plus its a great tourist attraction. Theres something timeless about it, but youre right , i wouldnt want to listen to the f#cking thing.
