@balinesa Agree. But if the alcohol/drugs are mixed up w/ the sex, it's not really safe, is it? He did end up knocking up an 18 year old. Even if it was a GF, I don't think it was intentional. And there could've been worse.
The thing about this is that when Simon talks about John, you see that tender look in his eyes and the tone of his voice. It is really sweet when he lets that love show. And there is definitely love there. Always will be. He looks @ John the same way he looks @ his family and he would be just as devastated if he ever lost him.
John Taylor has done what Jim Morrison wish could have done, I mean from 1978 to 2009 on sex, drugs and rock & roll thats more years than what Jim (27)lived .
I don't think the point of the video was to show Simon as a martyr or anything. Only to show that he saw his friend getting lost and tried to help bring him back. Taking that into consideration......how cool is that?
I'm not sure what to make of it. Simon was once quoted as saying that cocaine harms your vocal chords. The funny thing is that during 1985 and beyond, his singing voice diminished a bit. Makes me wonder if he dabbled in a few "White Lines" himself.
Alcohol will do the same to the voice. It drys the vocal chords and makes them less flexible. I had read in Andy's book that the bev of choice for Simon and Nick during the 80s tours was red wine. Not judging...it just seems all of them had their own way of escaping and letting go at that time...
John, Buddy! I can't even imagine the pressures you guys had growing up being mega famous! After all these years you're still looking great! Peace to you Brother!
I always admire how honest and articulate John is in his interviews. I could look and listen to him all day ;) I have been a fan for many, many years and I am so, so grateful that they are back and touring again. Rock on guys!
