  • Wow, very interesting...

  • Laurie should definitely have been consulted.

  • I got a wild theory. I don't think this cat died of that disease. Here's why, no one, including his wife caught it from him. Bare backing and all. Then there's the fact no one was allowed to see him or pics. Then the rush cremation. I say witness protection program. Maybe lol

  • i read that it was almost nine inches when flaccid when some fella did an autopsy so hed be way over 11 inches for sure ;/

  • thanks this is a side we never get to hear truefully. i can hear a earth mother talking his ex wife's

voice. no one life is simple, or straight forward

.. as for boogie nights- good movie , pushed all the buttons( started happy , ended sad, got happy once more) but how can a Hollywood movie be made about the truthfully life in porn?.Pretty woman: is some peeps idea of what a hookers life is.so pretty mark w was cute & he got to live in end, hooray for holly wood.

  • It's an interesting story. I lived only a couple miles from the Wonderland location.

But if the truth be known, check out clips on xtubedotcom and decide for yourself if "The King" were 13 inches.

  • Holmes was a scumbag he had unprotected sex with people when he knew he had HIV, he was a drug addict a thief, was involved in brutal murder and had sex with men for money.Thats the reality.

  • i think he could have gotten a better looking chick than that with 13 inches

she says he was a great person, how could you not be, what do you expect him to be ?/ miserable

  • @MrGibstrat It's mainly men who fixate on penis size, particularly length. Anything over 8" is often a problem for most women. Guys are the one's who have hang ups about dick size and therefore develop a dick fetish. Ask any woman whether she prefers length or girth and I bet my life she chooses the latter. Also, no matter how large the cock, if the person attached doesn't know what they're doing, they're not much value to the ladies

  • i guess it goes to show size isnt everything, sex and money is

  • @MrGibstrat You're either extremely young/naive or extremely shallow and thick. "Why would you do coke if you had such a monster cock"??? Please tell me you're kidding. Were you born with a micro penis or something? The whole point behind this book and conversation is to clarify John Holmes as a person and dispel the myths and nonsensical hoopla that surrounds the man's history. He most likely developed addictions b/c people (like yourself) saw him only as an appendage rather than a person

  • why would you do coke if you had such a monster penis

  • @MrGibstrat Dude, not all dudes who are well-endowed get plenty of women.

  • Screwing all those chicks, why would someone be so unhappy that they would have to do drugs and crime. I don't understand at all.

  • why'd he never get it up?

  • @geogodley itd be difficult if i were a man & had done so many drugs that doesnt help the penis is like a sponge evn engorged & that large id bet it would be overwhelming to be all 13 erect shoot looking at it would make me pass out

  • He was already sick right on the picture at 3:08??

  • That photo was taken at the Consumers Electronics show before John tested positive for HIV - probably around 1983 when John had started using cocaine again. The photo that follows it was taken after the one of John and Ron Jeremy.

  • Damn that picture at 3:08 is scary was he already infected with aids then??

  • Did anyone around John ever try to get him into rehab? I have to feel that he could've been saved. Maybe it's just me?

  • Our book does address this question. I don't want to spoil things for people who have yet to read "Inches", but we asked Bob Chinn and Julia St. Vincent, specifically, about intervention and rehab. John was an extremely addictive person, so it is tough to determine if he could have remained indefinitely clean. Interestingly, John did get clean for extended periods in the 1980s - also covered in detail in the book. ;-)

  • I'm going to have to get it. I'd still like to see the Johnny Wadd boxset with something like a replica of the Jade Pussy Cat or Blondefire diamond with it.

  • @dpman72 It was a different time. Coke abuse/addiction wasn't really addressed. People thought you could not get hooked on coke.

  • I'm a Holmes fan from way back but it's laughable how Laurie tries to paint him as a saint. Give me a f*ckin break.

  • Your point is well taken. Realistically, Laurie knows that John wasn't a saint, but we tend to memorialize people according to our personal experiences with them. Laurie remembers the good side of John and generally focuses on that part of his character during interviews and whenever she speaks about him. She is definitely nobody's fool.

  • True. And if he had refused Nash's order to let them into the house, he would have just been another body on the floor.

  • Exactly true. Plus Nash had threatened to harm John's wife Sharon and his family if he didn't comply with Nash's command to lead the perpetrators to the house. Every single aspect of the Wonderland Ave. part of John's life is pretty ugly.

  • Harm? He would've killed them all I'm sure. Is it true that Nash threatened to cut off his shlong and make him eat it if he didn't help or was that urban legend?

  • "Harm" was used as a manner of speech. Our biography dispels and/or confirms many of the stories surrounding John Holmes while shedding light on some new and surprising information. It is definitive and complete. To answer your question, we did not encounter anyone who could corroborate that story.

  • Is this book available in hardback?

  • The 584 page bio (that also includes 3 photos sections, 114 feature film reviews, 86 loops synopses and a 21 page filmography) is currently available in paperback and will be released in audiobook format in 2010. :)

  • I'll have to get that withouth a doubt. Will they ever issue "Rise of the Roman Emperess" on DVD? I've tried forever to find that movie since it was his last. It's one of two holy grails I have in porn.

  • I believe Paradise Visuals will eventually release "Rise and Fall of the Roman Empress" on DVD. Fortunately, we were able to review it for our bio by watching the VHS version of the film that was on loan to us. "Roman Empress "actually has merit - we gave it a 3.5 star rating out of 4.

  • I hope so. I think most of his movies would be top sellers. I wish Bob Chin would do a Johnny Wadd Box Set with extras and stuff. Gold mine!

  • John Holmes films sell well. A box set is a great idea that will perhaps materialize one day. The individual films of the series are owned by various adult companies though which makes it a bit difficult. Have you seen the original Johnny Wadd? It was released in 2008 on DVD with commentary provided by Bob Chinn, who is also interviewed. It's the first time the film has seen the light of day since it's initial theatrical release in 1970.

  • I have seen a film called just "Johnny Wadd" was that one the first one or was "Tell them Johnny Wadd Is Here" the first? I"ve got 5 of them. My favorite is "China Cat". I also have a bootleg copy of "The Return of Johnny Wadd" a girl on youtube made me. I wish the different companies would calaborate for a box set but that's just wishful thinking.

  • Yes, "Johnny Wadd" was the first of the series. "Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here" is the fifth film of the series and was produced by Freeway Film as were the last four and had better production value. China Cat is also my favourite of the series. John wasn't a good actor by any means but he hits his stride in China Cat. The film is very watchable.
