  • The greatest shit off all!

    He destroy his song!!

  • Awful!

  • Bruce!!! Bruce!!! Bruce!!!

  • It's such an epic tune, I love Bruce. Anyone any idea what chords he's playing?

  • Death and taxes are for sure, but as death and taxes always exist so does The Boss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • man! Gotta love this song... lyrically, melodically.... the imagery in those lyrics yo!!! had to look them up.

  • man! Gotta love this song... lyrically, melodically.... the imagery in those lyrics yo!!!

  • ILU!!

  • Mannfred Manns Earth Band never changed the lyrics you simpletons, just look at there version done on the Midnight Special, He sings "cuts loose like a deuce you know the runners in the night "....not douche, christ, get it right

  • @yes4545

i think they changed it to "revved up like a deuce"...

  • @yes4545 Even Bruce said himself that Mannfred Mann changed it to 'douche'... Its on youtube here. Type in bruce story tellers (MTV show) and it should come up. He explains in full detail how Mann changed the lyrics in that line. When they did Midnight Special they just went to the original lyrics is all.

  • @kobe9985 Mistake. He explains it on VH1 story tellers.

  • @yes4545 no...manfred mann says revved up like a douche

  • Just Want To Say Thanks For Making My Video "This Is The Worst Song Ever Recorded-Agree Or Disagree" Popular On Youtube And Thanks For All The Views....Peace Out...

  • I love playing backyard bombadier while skunked on bier.

  • Hes amazing..

  • Watch the video

  • Can anyone tab the intro to this?

  • @crazymetalhead9999 go to lovebolts.co.uk click bruce springsteen tabs then click blinded by the light

  • Actually Bruce wrote this song for Mann before he decided to do it himself with the lyrics "cut loose like a deuce" as he originally wrote them.

  • I'm not sure where you get your information, but Springsteen released this as a single in 1973, three years before manfred mann recorded his version.

  • i know man if u write something get it right

  • no he never he sang his way then mann done theres its bruce only no 1 and all because they chaneged the lyric

  • @kevmarine Bruce never wrote this song for Mann. Bruce's was told he had a great album but needed to have a "radio hit" on his Asbury Park album from his producer and this is what he came up with. Bruce explains it in detail in his session on MTV Story Tellers.

  • @kevmarine Check that... VH1 story tellers he explains it.

  • "cut loose like a duece" a Chevy Nova 2 is called a "deuce"

  • manfred suck dick so does foreigner

  • the boss !

  • ummm...jazzking? Foolish for you to believe Manfred Mann's Earth Band would skew the lyrics. They loved Springsteen, he knows it, and has said more than once that he likes their version of this song. Stick to jazz....BTW the popularity of the song is mainly due to the Manfred Mann version..i'm sure Springsteen would gladly admit that with no jealousy or animosity whatsoever.

  • They did skew the lyrics, so you're wrong there. Sorry. Check the "VH1 Storytellers" version of Blinded. Bruce goes into this whole speech about how Mann said "Wrapped up like a douche," a feminine hygiene product, where Bruce wrote "Cut loose like a deuce," as in a deuce coop, a car. He also does say that it was his only number one single, but only when he didn't sing it. So you ARE right there, just not about the lyrics. Fail on your part.

  • springsteen is man. manfred man version is kinda limp dick

  • his version is sooooooooooo much better than manfred man. + they took out deuce& put in douche. Grosss

  • was this his solo acoustic only tour? no electric?

  • he is a song writing god! and that comes from someone with a degree in pop music, no joke!

i don't like feet, but i would kiss his! hahaha

  • Lovely! When I went to this tour, i enjoyed the concert, but didn't think it was the best one i've seen. After years have past, more and more I think that this acoustic tour was unique, and not to be repeated. Therefore it's one of the best concerts i've seen!

  • I don't think this is a bad version of this song.....this is raw bruce springsteen in a stripped down!! It's like he re-invents these songs everytime he performs them, great post...

    great job boss!!

  • Bruce rules!!! he will always be one of my favorites!!!

  • this song is about the words, not the music

  • Springsteen's the greatest live performer around, maybe ever; so this caught him doing Blinded By The Light in a version that's not exactly his best, so what?

    Was "Plugged" his best performance?

was that tour, '92-'93, his best? No, but I saw some great shows still.

He's got something indefinable that makes him the most exciting performer around; so some nights are better than others and some arrangements are better than others. Big deal.

  • His 70's tours were the best! Saw him a few times after the second album came out and it was awesome!!! Blinded by the Light sounded just like the album! Yes, The album!

  • Oh I know! I have one from '76, a bit later, but great! & also yes, the 70s was his peak! not to say he hasn't done great stuff since, but from '73-'78 there was no-one who could touch him.

wasn't his old voice, his speaking voice cool?! I think so! "This song is about a daughter who lost her mother to mathematics, & elderly choirboys in Montana, & pancakes, & James Garner's affair with a one-eyed woman..."

10/2/75 : " ARE YOU LOOSE? I said YEAH! We walked into the bar, Clarence shuffled in...

  • I don't know where or when, but how did this guys who has such soulful, passionate voice that sung of the frustrations and pleasures of Love begin to sound like a cross between Woodie Guthrie and Dylan and a bad day? I prefer his voice pre-Nebraska. I mean, this guy still puts on a great show...

  • I know what you mean. I love Springsteen, think he's still totally great, but his voice has definitely changed; I'd say his voice changed around the time of The River, on Wreck On The Highway; it's subtle, but his "southern" accent started then, and was really there by Tunnel Of Love.

I don't think he sounds like Dylan or Guthrie though.

Dylan on a bad day, that's harsh! (re: Dylan of the last how many years? Dylan was great vocal-wise his 1st 10-15 years or something...esp. the 1st few years

  • i think people are hatin' on him live cause he doesn't play it like its on the album (granted, this acoustic)...sorry if he brings a whole different personality to his live performances, don't know what to tell ya...keep listenin' to the albums in your cars i guess?

  • its not the same as the album its different because hes playing it alone instead of with the band

  • Have to agree how can a man say he is terrble live. The last great touring artist whether he plays alone or with the e-street. He never lets his audience down.

  • to say bruce is terrible live is ignorant. If you knew much of anything about Bruce Springsteen then you would know that much of his fame comes from the reputation of his live shows. There is a reason that he has sold out almost everyone of his concerts since the 70's. Ignorant

  • 1st track of his 1st CD... The 1st of MANY masterpieces!

    Thank You, Bruce!

  • have you ever seen him live. in any setting whether it be solo acoustic, seeger sessions, or e street band, theres a certain energy that can't be matched by anybody else. to say he's terrible live just means your an idiot with bad taste

  • He wasn't high when he wrote it. He says so on VH1 storytellers. He was sitting on his bed with a rhyming dictionary. I don't think he was high.

  • waIT, BRUSE WAS HI WHEN HE WROTE THIS?? HE DONT LOOK LIKE HE TOUCHED DRUGS MUCH

  • I can't really listen to this because his way of singing is way too off rhythym. I do respect the man for writing one of the most questioned songs of all time but I do find the Manfred Mann version to be more enjoyable. But regardless of who thinks which version is better, the song is great, Bruce wrote amazing lyrics while he was cranked, and Manfred Mann turned it into a pretty cool tune.

  • who does this song originally?

  • bruce springsteen but the more well known version is manfred manns earth band

  • hey guys dont worry about god of wrath he went through favorites aand wrote it on everyone of the springsteen videos i know all bout him hes unemployed hes gonna get his pc taken away soon enough and also hes a manfread mann earth band fan u know the ones that covered springsteen

  • obviously u know absolutly jack shite about music, carry on slatin the boss and it wont be just ur ears bleedin my friend, BEWARE

  • It must've just went over your head

  • Man I wish I saw him on the Devils and dust tour, he gave all the songs such an old folky feel.

  • Wow, amazing :)

The D&D tour will go down as a classic tour, the true fans know how great it was :)

  • I'm appalled at how obviously Bruce is imitating Dylan on this track. Geez do it the E-Street way bro!

  • BLINDED BY DELIGHT

    Bruce Rocks.

  • hey fuck you asshole

  • What the hell? Why are you here? Get on with your Metallica life, and leave the dreamers to the real music.

  • hey, don't go there, metallica rocks. nuff said.

  • wait, where is Manfred Mann now?? When was their last album?

  • you people cursing each other over a song and who's version is the best need to get a fucking life, there are a lot more things to be uptight about than this, everyones version is good if its the one you like, everyone has a different taste, thats the beauty of music

  • blow me

  • You guys who are all dissin Bruce have to realize that he's gettin older, and the voice goes. Also, had Bruce not written songs like "BBTL" or "Spirit in The Night" Manfred Mann wouldn't have as many hits...

  • if you want to question bruce's voice at the age of 57, or 54 when this video was...go listen to "incident" from this show. Then we'll see what you have to say

  • idk what it is with you and manfred man... he likes to sing about douches and you're a douche!! that's ironic!

  • I agree. Bruce's original in 1972 was great but this version eats it.

  • you dont know what the fuck your talkin abuot man suck my dick

  • maybe ur wrong u fuckin idiot???? wtf are you sayin ur not makin sense man get a life grow a dick and be a real man make some sense...like bruce

  • I agree with you here! Bruce needs some singing lessons. He absolutely sucks! Manfred Mann is by far the master of this song! Look at who went #1 on the charts and who didn't.

Kudos to you for knowing the real musician here!

  • this is the original you asshole!

  • Ummm how can this suck if it's the original version? You can't say anything about the original because there would be no cover at all without Bruce's version.

  • I really love this arrangement, him solo and the gee-tar, its a sweet urgency

  • No, his live shows are great! The sound of this video just isn't too good..

  • he doesn' soun too good on live as much on radio

  • No he sounds amazing live. To get the full effect you have to be there.

  • ...and high.

    >.>

    j/k :P

  • Ick...he doesn't sound near as good live does he? Then again that could be the fact that it's been forever since this song came out and he's a lot older.

  • You're probably talking about the Manfred Mann version.

  • or maybe you have no idea what your talking about.

  • OMG hes amzing pure amzing

  • the pendulum swings all the way back to the very beginnings- reminds me on these audition recordings of "does this bus stop.." on "tracks". this man seriously kicks ass after all these years.

  • he is the boss for a reason..
