@Yamahaphone yea but you'll get a crappy frame rate. I have a Athelon 64 2.2 GHz and for graphics also a Amd Athelon 64 3400+ and i can run it at max and get about 15 fps.

yes it is possible, a basic game station runs fsx with 120 fps.

a highend overclocked pc can probally peak 201, but not stable 201

your wrong i have a quad core q6600 and it eats every last bit ov my cpu it maxes out at 100%...i got 8800gt overclocked and 8gb ram but im runnin xp so i only use 3 gb ram..and i get real gud framerates at medium high settings/wiv light bloom

isn't FSX almost 100% reliant on the CPU? Just wondering, cause I can't see any FPS difference on the lowest, and the highest settings on my computer... I guess it's my sucky CPU bottlenecking everything... Maybe I'll notice the framerate difference with graphics once I get my Q6600

just to let you know fsx is not quad threaded. So 2 of your cores will be doing nothing while running this game. Better off getting a faster due core instead.

Well you have a pretty nice cpu, not so much for your grpahics card.. but still quite good :) Now what you should be using settings wise is MAX texture but turn off Anti AA and light bloom and all that. Set your framerate cap to unlimited. Now for scenary settings you should maybe have everything at Medium. And for traffic maybe 50% aircraft traffic but turn off car and boat traffic, that should work. :)

actualy you do not want to set unlimited for frame rate.. two reasons. it prevents scenery from loading and also causes major stutters. set your settings as high as you can while keeping the actual frame rate at the lowest you are willing to tolerate. then cap your frame rate at a couple frames a sec below the frame rate you are actualy capable of.

Well my average framerate at max settings over the city of honolulu is around 20-ish. Out in the open over the mountians it can get up into the 30's. But make sure you install service pack 1 for FSX that just recently came out, gives you a good boost in performance :)
