  • I love the fat character.. especially when he's screaming.

  • OK EVERYBODY I UNDERSTAND ITS A KEY ANIMATION, I JUST DON'T LIKE IT

  • Comment removed

  • it's unfinished piece, man. compiled of the parts he's animated and the key-frames of what he is yet to animate.

  • for anyone who's accusing the animation of this: LEARN ABOUT THE PROCESS OF ANIMATION BEFORE YOU SAY THINGS LIKE 'the animation in this is bad'!

Mate, the animation in this is nice and smooth. i luv it. Really want to see the finished part.

  • @Mooper1000 I'm pretty sure that it's just a keyframe animation. Animators do this before they move onto the stage of smoothing them out with more frames added. I think this is just the rough stage.

  • @TWA93 Ya I guess, but I don't like the last OY, It's terrifying

  • What is this madness??

  • good drawings but you shuld fiks the animations

  • Animation fascinates me and tI like your style

  • N I thought studio Ghibil was weird.

  • excellent work.

  • Thanks actron!

  • yah, cartooning would not get anywhere without the ways of warped twists of our imaginations, i beleive at least.

  • what school, or institution did you go to, to learn this?

  • I went to the Art Institute of Philadelphia and got my associates degree. But I also learned allot from books, directors, co-workers, and my weird way of thinking.

  • Whomeever the cartoonist is, you are a master at catooning, because, your exxagerated line proportions on this and other cartoons are simply divine, stunnning and incredible, the exaaggeration has been pushed to by far the edges of cartooning can go to, cartooning is all about exxageration and you have did something, other cartoonists would have trouble understanding, and that is exxaggertion, i wanted to say thank you for the post, holy fuck you are an incredible cartonist,

  • Thanks a bunch CartoonistTheDave.

I was the one who animated this. Oh my name is Gene McGuckin.

Yeah, I love exaggeration in animation. I have to thank Tex Avery, Bob Clampet, and John K. to name a couple, for helping me learn that in books.

Well actually, for John K., I worked for him on Ren & Stimpy, so I learned some stuff directly from him.

  • wow! I'm actually a fan of his! But recently I found that i couldn't read his blog anymore, and i found them really useful when it came to drawing cartoons. Do you know how I could get back into reading the blog?

  • Joe Tedz--

You're a fan of mine? Thanks a bunch, I appreciate it! To get to my blog, just google:

    Gene McGuckin

My blog will come up as the first option to click on. I just did it and it worked.

    Thanks again.

  • Wow! Great drawings. I love how the fat rolls over the knees when he's breathing. Great detail! I can't wait to see it fully rendered!

  • Thanks StarCOmmander!

  • THIS IS ONLY key drawings ? is it ?

  • For Cletus (the fat one), yeah it's mostly all just Key drawings. As for Floyd, it's basically finished animation wise--execept for clean up on here. You can see the clean-up version on my 2-D Demo Reel--Just click on 'goon cartoons' and you'll find it there.

    Gene

  • can u do better asshole?

  • ur comment was very anal, good

  • thanks

  • Ren & Stimpy...? :)

    Nice work so far..

  • Thanks shailiyon!

  • i don't get it...lol

  • Yeah, there isn't enough to understand what's going on. It's a piece of a skit we were going to do a good while back. At least it made you laugh. Thanks for the comment.

  • Oh it works again!!

Why does he screams that loud?? Haha!!

  • Yeah, I suppose my friend Frank fixed it. As for Cletus screaming so loud (with echoes), we were just playing with a sound program we had. I suppose we should get sound professionals--Hahaha!

    Thanks for your comment,

    Gene

  • Cool yeah, it's working again.

As for your question--Cletus is angry and impatient, especially when it comes to Floyd.

  • Why does it stops :(

  • great animation ^^, (hug)

  • Thanks, it's just keys though--and for some reason, when it should go to the full animation--it stops! I don't understand it....

The part right after, where Floyd is supposed to bounce in, is on my traditional reel though. You can just type "Gene McGuckin 2D reel" or something and find it. Or look in Goon Toons (top left, in the "about this video" box) to find it.

Anyway, thanks for your nice comment!

  • LoL... zacina się na 15 sekundzie

  • Yo no entienden, por que gracias. I know that isn't the language you were writing, but Spanish is the only other language I know-- y es moy poqito. I'm not even sure if I spelled "little" correcly.

    Gene

  • Thanks man. Yeah your right, it isn't playing right. My friend posted it. For one it's just key frames, but even so, yeah it just stops 15 seconds in. There's supposed to be some full animation after that where the character Floyd bounces in... Oh well, thanks for your comment.

  • dang it looks like its still not playing right.. looks way cool tho, at least the first 15 seconds! :-)

  • Thanks. Yeah, I don't know what happened; since I didn't post it. I just animated it.

  • How do you do your pencil tests? Did you use a light box?
