what is it about guitar, that brings out the competitiveness in people?...ya never hear about clarinet players getting into arguments about the best clarinet players do ya?...its music...lighten up
Amazing! Unfortunately I came from a forum where there was a post stating he was better than Tommy Emmanuel. That was infinitely beyond an exaggeration because Tommy Emmanuel is the god of guitar, bu this guy is absolutely fantastic
Joscho plays gipsy jazz more like a banjo/country style of playing. He has a great technique. Als a really good timing he has. But there is no romance in his playing like django or Stochelo has.
@krissieisgek I totally agree with you about Joscho - he's just amazing. While Tommy may not be quite as good as Joscho playing manouche, I would say Tommy can play any style he wants at such high levels.
this is playing guitar --yes -roenberg trio --you are fantastic -all the greats have learned from this style !- jan akkerman , you name it !thank you , MASTER GUITARIST ! XD
This guy is brilliant! what luthier made his guitar, its got a real funky sound hole on it! Man he can swing it though, what amazing picking technique
This is a replica of the Selmer Macaferri guitar. A company called Saga Music makes them now. They were the first guitars to have a cutaway. They also employ a zero fret. If you like what you saw here check out Jon Jorgenson's stuff.
This guy is an EXCELLENT guitarist! Perhaps he will mellow a bit as he ages (like fine wine or scotch), because (and this is only my opinion) he seems a bit rushed in his playing to get through, a 'condition' that only experience helps to correct. There's the story of the young bull who says to the old bull while looking down on the herd of cows below, "Let's run down there and f*ck us a heifer" to which the old bull says, "Let's walk down there and f*ck 'em all." True mastery, n'est-ce pas? ;)
This song is all about showing skills. The great thing though is that he is showing not only that he can play fast, but that he can do so with style and taste.

Xeter245 7 months ago
@Xeter245 yes of course , but this phrase was invented and used first time by django reinhardt
in i'll see you in my dreams- 1930 circa and then copied from everyone like many other devices or riffs .
from this point of view every guitarist today uses a little from django link bend ,octaves, crhomatic runs
tremolo picking alternate picking and of course chords maj and minor 6 and many many other things
