  • Its funny on how so many people forget things. In 1997, you guys wanted to kick Elizabeth II out, because of the death of Diana and the events after. So remember that when you guys glorify Elizabeth :).

  • @Rasmere Well said. I have great respect for the queen, she has devoted her entire life to being the head of state. But the rest of the parasites and hangers on are absolutely redundant, and the deification of the royal family, as if they really are superhuman, is utterly pathetic and servile.

It takes one bad monarch for people to start talking about republicanism; the monarchy was lucky to have Elizabeth II, but I await Charles III to see how it pans out

  • what a bum. the United Kingdom was so fortunate to get Bertie and Elizabeth. What heroes! The present Queen is also awesome. Her life is is guided by her coronation oath.............. After her, the deluge. The young royals take after David, they want their cake and eat it too.

  • What do the brits have today? The worlds fourth largest economy.

  • @Ayuthya not really actually the British economy is the 7th largest

  • In 1936- English Gov. appeased Hitler & self-disarmed. Churchill said Hitler would attack, so was called a War Monger. A hopeless situation for a disarmed England! Did E. abdicate & fake a roll to position himself to mitigate harsh subjugation of England in future? In 1940, did his words & dangerous wandering from Paris to Provence to Portugal, offer himself as “bait”, hoping to delay Hitler’s invasion past summer & radar setup?- Hitler did delay. --Did Edward's desperate acts save Britain?

  • What do the British have today for their love affair with the USA ?

  • This is getting better and better. So, Edward was seen as a danger to national security and, still, he was given secret information that he could pass to Nazi Germany? Who was the fool that did that? And we are told that Edward was angered by the low position he had been given in the military. Then, how the hell could he get access to those secrets, being so lowly placed?

  • Amazing. An US spy stupid enough to leak a secret. And to the duke of Windsor. And to whom else? And who else could had overhead that conversation? What a fool!

  • my God this man was a complete disgrace

  • i would of done it too, to become the fuhrer of england

  • What a piece of work he was. I think he was largely protected behind the scenes by his mother Queen Mary. I don't mean politically, of course but because she had a soft spot for her first born. That's only my opinion.

  • This isn't the first time I've heard that Edward was a Nazi sympathizer. I've heard that one for years if not decades.

  • he had a chunk of money after he abdicated of about 50,000,000 GBP at the time.

  • During all this, was the british tax payer paying this mans bills or was he self sufficient? How did Edward pay for his lifestyle? I think it insulting to approach Hitler if his bills are being paid by Britain!!

  • Edward sold back the privately owned estates of Balmoral and Sandringham to his brother. Edward's wealth had accumulated from the revenues of the Duchy of Cornwall paid to him as Prince of Wales and ordinarily at the disposal of an incoming king. The Windsors lived rent free and tax free in France until they died.

  • @Anyacat3 .Apart from the fact that he was never known to pay for any restaurant bill in his whole life.He appears to have crocodiles in is pockets.!

  • Thank you for the reply...I did not know all of the financial arrangements. I was shocked and thought how sad if the british tax payer is picking up the tab. I guess the wealth of the royal family was larger than I imagined---Thank you for giving me the facts. I learned something.

  • He even had that "Nazi look"

  • @historynerd18 You type shite

  • He should have been shot.

  • Too bad no one stripped him of his Royal titles and sent him to the frontline to be shot.

  • @DantesDump Has anyone thought that he might have been working with the British govt to defeat the Germans.... After all who won????? He would have been the perfect spy!

  • @traciellutz66 Don't you think that if that were true it would have been made public? After all, the fact that a former English king was supplying the enemy with information is an incredible embarrassment to the Royal Family and the British government. In fact, all this information about his treasonous activities was covered up for years because it's a huge scandal really.

  • @DantesDump As if anything that the Germans posted in these times could be trusted!

  • @DantesDump Well, if he had been, his death might have been used as Nazi propaganda.

  • @DantesDump I'd say he should have been hanged, like a common criminal. He wouldn't have deserved the honor of a firing squad.
