The main compliment is the fact that you understand phrasing - Marty is the MAN because he had/has a whole new approach to shred guitar. That whole "Eastern" sound is what makes him what he is. He's one of my main inspirations as a guitarist because, regardless of the BPM he shreds arpeggios, he's still recegonizable because he SOUNDS like Marty Friedman - something I can only HOPE for as a guitarist one day.
