Yes! This is the first time in history an adult has been killed by coyotes. She was in Eastern Canada when this occured. The coyotes there tend to weigh 40+ lbs. and interbreeding with wolves has probably made them more aggressive and prone to attack. Plus there were two of them.

Taylor Mitchell was a beautiful and talented singer. She was killed on a hiking trip by two coyotes, one of which was shot. Her album was put on iTunes in memory. It is thought that the coyotes instincts told them to chase her when she ran away. She was airlifted to hospital but died of her wounds after a few hours. Her mother said "It was sadly her time to be taken from us." RIP Taylor, you were beautiful and talented. Hope you're happy in the afterlife.

The big Male grapped it by the snout and the smaller one grabbed it by the hind. His wife watched it. Ate most of it til the Farmer came out. The Cow died. Nova Scotia Coyotes are not skinny timid animals. No Man would have a chance against two coyotes. Very quiet and fast and intelligent.

The news report said other hikers called 911 while witnessing the attack, she made it to the hospital and died there. My question is valid. I've dealt with coyotes myself with everything from a gun to a sword to a branch. To me, they are dogs. Wild yes, but they are lower on the food chain than some domesticated breeds.
