  • Thanks for posting this..It is a great interview .

  • This reminds of current Dave Chappelle interviews . In his current videos you get a sense of how crazy and evil Hollywood is. Clearly she was a normal girl caught in the evil Satan ruled world of the time

  • she LOW

  • What the fuck happened to his nose??

  • Anna Marie. She went through TV mind control. Looking back it was complex and moved quickly. I can see now how, she did what she did and came out abit damaged. It must of Suddenly came to the conclusion that she needed a long break. She is a real trooper and that does take Real talent. Way to Go Anna. She is here still laughing. Great! Stuff.

  • Her performance in "The MIracle Worker" is one of the best ever filmed. She never came close to matching it.

  • I wonder how much embezzelling compared with how much inflationary affects contributed to her being flat broke in 1981.

It would take a genius to keep money or assets intact, during the entire 1970's when there were many world economic problems.

    Just wondering.

  • As I understand it, she was diagnosed as manic-depressant in 1982. This interview was in 1981 - so she hadn't yet been diagnosed. Right?

  • @Susana1027 Yes, you are correct.

  • Hasnt the interview here passed on now???

  • Once again thanks fr posting this.....I'm sure Anna appreciates it.

  • The great thing about Brian Linehan was that he always allowed the guest to talk without interrupting them.

  • I always thought she was so beautiful in her show back in the 50's. It's amazing how young and beautiful she still was way back in 1981!!!

  • I met her at a seminar a couple of years ago and she could not have been nicer. A lovely person who has overcome mental illness. Her husband Michael was every bit as friendly and kind as she.

  • I use to see her all the time when I was in high school. I went to University High School in West LA and she lived on Barrington St. at that time, which was one block up from my school. I use to see her in the market and even said hi to her a couple of times. She seemed like a really nice person. This was WAY back in 1975-1978.

  • I know she lived in Westwood from about 1972-1991. She lived on Denslow, which is a very nice street. Is that near Barrington? I recently moved to LA and looked at the house. She said her son Sean Astin's dentist lives there now.

  • Yes it could have been Denslow. It is very close to Barrington. It has been a long time. Both are in the near proximity to my high school, Barrington being one of the streets that the school is on.

  • @racer500gp Awww that is nice.

  • She's never admitted to being on anything during the filming. She had problems with perscription drugs (not illegal ones) and alcohol and other points of her life, but not during that filming.

  • what? I know Tatum O'Neal had a lot of problems that everyone knew about-she was a drug addict. But I didn't know Jodie Foster at the time was being maligned in the press as being troubled too. Then again I wasn't around in the early 80s.

  • Jodie Foster wasn't really. The interviewer is probably reffering to the John Hinckley inkling to Foster when he shot the President.

  • hey! i still watch the pattyduke show everymorning

  • GREAT interview! Can't really remember seeing it before - what a treat!

  • wonderful, WONDERFUL interview! so much for posting this and all the great clips you post. This is a very revealing and clearly heartfelt interview at a piviotal time in her career. And I LOVE her reaction to the old song in the other part. II have such a crush on 1980s era Patty!

  • I agree with your comment about her reaction to "Don't Just Stand There." Priceless. :)

    Great interview.

  • Thanks, elmonewt. It's for people like you that I post this stuff.

  • And I know I speak for all of Anna's fans when I say how grateful I am that you do post these clips. I fell for Anna in the mid 80s when I stumbled upon TPDS on CBN I think it was (pre-Nick at Nite) and can watch anything with her in it. Even the less than great movies are worth sitting through as she always gives a great performance. Please keep posting. It is MOST appreciated! Other than a few old tapes of the PD Show, I have very few of her work to enjoy, so this channel helps fill that gap.

  • The tabloids will print what ever will get squanders to buy their magazines. Just to be honest, I think I bought People once about 20 years ago.

  • It's amazing that so many years ago people were still complaining about the tabloids
