Excellent post! I saw Luba with Brian Adams during the Reckless tour. He kicked ass that night and so did she. Every bit as good as he was. What a great show!!
In my top #1.. Nothing and nobody is more STELLAR then Luba :) .. A voice that stops souls dead in their tracks, I saw first hand many times over and over again at Ontario Place Forum in sound checks alone... A pure and true class act :) Heart ... Always !
Luba was one of the most under rated talents from the eighties. This was a singer but Madonna who had a quarter of Luba's talent ruled because she knew how to get press. I am so proud this girl is from Canada. Love on ya Luba.
@Ruhlmann1 ...Preaching to the choir man... She is gorgeous, has a great voice... 't's all a matter of marketing... She's sooo underated... 'Just love her, she's GREAT,period!!!...
Over 25 years ago I had the pleasure of meeting this band. While they were recording their first record I got to listen to their demo's. I was then and now a big fan. I remember all the members being really nice and friendly. Luba was really shy but was always friendly when she came into the store. All the best to this band.
She was a very pretty woman, she had an incredible voice.Only two tunes that i'm familiar with, this one of course and little salvation.I know for a fact she was Canadian possibly out of toronto but never did hear anything else by her or even if she's still around??
A great act! Worked on this live video shot in Quebec City and had a blast! Drove the Panavision truck from Toronto via Montreal.. wild crowd and she gave it her all!! A tru canadian performer for her fans!!
I had the most vile fantasies of Luba Kowalcyk ....back in the day. Gawd she is one hot momma. :D But why did she have to wear so much big clothes........it hid her sexy bod. XOXOXO Such a beautiful woman & angelic voice.
its ironic that almost none of today's woman artist have the voice that Luba has. You can not deny she has an amazing voice. Would love to see a new album!
Yeah definitely in my Top3 of best Canadian female vocalist. Too bad she desappeared from the music scene few years ago. Amanda Marshall is another great great voice we had here in Canada but she also desappeared after 3 amazing albums. Where are they now?
Who gives a crap what she looks like? She has an absolutely amazing voice and is a phenomenal musician. My only regret is that she didn't break it big in the U.S., too, so that more people could hear her music.
I have absolutely no idea how much body fat she is carrying around with her but at least her tits are big but the rest of her is nothing to look at. Try to enjoy her music and give her body a break. She can't be perfect across the board.
I keep trying to duplicate those moves at 3:18 but I keep flying into one of the couches in my living room and my dog is starting to get mad at me for crashing into him all the time. I told the dog to get out of my way as I don't trust my footwork. Maybe I should be barefoot like Luba and I would have more grip. Don't worry about me I'll get it right soon!
her concerts were always...fraught with pure energy...that was her signature...that she is a woman of internal and external beauty...with a heart as glorious as the music she shared...I love Luba Kowalczyk...
This is Great!SoCool!I remember when,Luba ws @ Expo86,in Vanc,B.C.,Hearing her,on the Outside,Listening in,Wish I saw Luba,too,in the 86 St,Music Hall!She ws such,an Excellent,Back-drop(bck-ground)for the Fireworks.Better than the Fireworks!Wow.This Song I remember Luba Sang,oh so Perfect onthat nite.thx.for posting.
For someone who started out being marketed as a "Canadian Cyndi Lauper", Luba sure metamorphosed quickly into a "Canadian Stevie Nicks". Great music, though.
This is my favourite Luba song...it was a huge hit in Canada and was always played on Video Hits (with Samantha Taylor) and Good Rockin' Tonight (with Terry David Mulligan)...wonderful music from the '80's...with a Canadian flair!
Do you remember the song Luba did for the 9 1/2 weeks soundtrack? "The Best Is Yet To Come" was the title...I was in that video...hung out with Luba and the band for 5 days shooting in Montreal, but I've never seen the final video...do you have a copy of that??
@MJSSCAN1985 Absolutely, I used to watch Good Rockin' Tonignt on CBC from Detroit and they played all of the awesome canadian bands and all of the Luba songs...I used to love the one "Givin' Away A Miracle" and "How Many Rivers To Cross" but this one was a major favorite too!
@michiganharmony I also love that she was her own authentic self in her music and style, there's a lot of 'production value' to her way of doing things and there was so much cheesy stuff out there in my beloved eighties I think that's sayin somethin!

I meant fashion-wise, not music-wise. And yes, dressing like Stevie Nicks is a bad thing. A very bad thing.

haha..are those 3 dancers in the background really dancing? Luba should've fired the music director for showing that...
