People think so wrongly of Dave Mustaine just because he's not up to par live anymore. Well, the fact of the matter is that since his surgery, he just won't be able to shred like he used to. Look up some old Dave solos, he shreds like a motherfucker. and watch him and glen drover trade solos in Hangar 18 live in beunos aires. Some of his solos are just fucking regardless. I'm not saying anyone's better than anyone. But people should give Dave some credit. Zakk, Dime, Dave, they were, ARE gods.

Mustaine comes out sounding pretty random(as in, no melody, just some consecutive notes) and not too varied in his solos, in my opinion. Mustaine is the "rifflord" and not the "solo-lord"(which actually sounds stupid XD) for a reason.

yea, its bend, pinch harmonic and a vibrato, thats the signature zakk harmonic, took me ages to perfect, and still not even 10% compared to zakk! i might hit 3 outta every 10 if im lucky, but also his pick ups, strings, tuning do help get that perfect sound. get some zakk strings, 11 guage, drop tune 1 and a half and play from your sack! u might JUST begin to get that kind of tone ;)
