@brettathias forget genres and just listen to what you like, i've an eclectic collection because i listen to what i want, not what i think i should because i'm locked into a genre, to each his own
A drummer friend of mine , roughly 30 years younger than I am , turned me on to this group , particularly this song. Knowing that I am a big Pink Floyd/David Gilmour fan , he figured I would dig Maserati. Needless to say, he was 100 % correct. This is music that transcends lyrics , and it reaches me. Great indoor listening , great while driving on the highway. For me, the term 'post-rock' means the evolution of rock in this segment of the 21st century----as opposed to Top 40 garbage.
if you like this you may also really like Ozric Tentacles from the UK, who probably inspired this band. very similar delayed guitar rhythmic electro instrumental jams, but wilder and more out there.
@progjazzfusion I actually just got into them, and now come to think of it, they do sound ozric influenced. it has that "stream of sounds" feel to it. lots of variety, but you feel like your gliding through a twisting and turning tunnel, like a red blood cell or something. XD
@AyeEffSee I also found this song on rewritten, along with Working for a Nuclear Free City's song "Asleep at the Wheel" from the scene at Rusty's house. Two great ones in a right in a row!
thankyouoooooo!!!!!! this is somthing i only just heard two nights ago and i think its the best , put me in mind of some raves in 90. just bass and bleeps then , this seems to me a little better.
My other band is Maserati.....

Pelican, Russian Circles, and now this. This is the first time I hear them and is one of my top 20 bands ever. This is for sure.
christiansser2010 5 months ago
@christiansser2010 Check out God Is An Astronaut, Caspian(Tertia album), If These Trees Could Talk, Oceansize, Sigur Ros.
Not sure if you've heard of any of them at all. Probably, but thought I'd throw them out there.
Cheers.

I dig this shit, like a lot, but wow every song has the same chorused phased/flanged palm muted arpeggio. kinda repetitive.
666alikat 8 months ago
@666alikat you should listen to their song 'cities', much more relaxed and very melodic. sounds a bit different.

@666alikat How is that if there is no effect except delay, reverb and occassionaly a wah?

I love Maserati, my favorite post-rock band for sure. I'm deeply saddened by Fuchs death. I never got to see them live :(
