  • @RattusNorvegicus100 any kinda criminal, more like outlaw than criminal. not that there bad people

  • @RattusNorvegicus100 Rube boy is a young man who hangs out with his Friends on the block; smoke herb, trouble the Ladies who pass by. Basically a trouble maker.

  • @vexalways

    and dressed like american gangsters

  • @RattusNorvegicus100 Originally, a rude boy, (rudy) was a young guy that was into the music and styles of 1950s Jamaican dance halls. Rocksteady, ska and even reggae were a rude boys (and girls) music. The boys wore porkpies (trilby's) and drainpipe suit trousers and jackets with thin ties. The Jamaican emigration to the UK meant the music transported and changed to a second wave of ska. Look up 'a message to you rudy' by the specials. Great stuff.

  • ou of course ... sorry :)

  • Skinheads

  • This sounds like mariachi, no offense.

  • no, no , no , no, no .... jajajajja

this is Ska ... from Jamaica... the original sound....

you should search ... "Mariachi Vargas" ... to you see the difference between ska and mariachi sounds...

  • The great man at work.

  • infectious music indeed. I have to get me some more of this. A very special thanks to my friend Tuktukskagal for sharing with me.

  • if you want to listen to Ska, listen to...the specials...madness..the beat..bad manners..selecter...etc...or look for anything on the 2tone label..these were blended from the reggae genre (influenced by west indian band members) and the pop genre...but be warned !! once you start listening to Ska, theres no stopping.

  • Very true mate :)

  • forgive buit, what is the difference between reggae and ska. What i kno wof reggae is bob ,toots and jimmy cliff. What i know of ska is no doubt, the bosstones and some sublime. please enlighten me. I just found this i would like to know more about both

  • First of all many *JAMAICAN* artists played both genres including Toots .... The best early *JAMAICAN* ska you get from Skatalites, Prince Buster, Derrick Morgan..check their tunes from the 60's ....Reggae? Check out Israel Vibration, Culture, IJahMan but also Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown and many more..Ahah don't forget what came in between, Rocksteady (Alton Ellis, Phyllis Dillon ............), Toots Hibbert played that too, like Bob, Bunny and Peter. Enjoy!

  • ever since i went to Jamaica i've been obsessed with its music and culture. Before all i knew was bob. now i've been enlightened to it all. thanks sullivan. I surely appreciate it

  • Ska is older, it's the prequel to reggae. It developed in the early 60s. Check out the Skatalites, early Wailers and Maytals. This is the real ska. Later the music got slower because of the heat of the jamaican sun, so the legend says. ;)
